So we may have offered him a new deal and Bascombe have indications that Crouch is stalling on a contract we may or may not have offered.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

You know what i don't get Shaggy...Rafa backed Crouchy to the hilt in his first when he couldn't score for love, nor money, even when he did break his duck people were still having a pop at him every other week.
Then the following season he scores a ****load of goals and some feckin beautys in the mix, is our top goalscorer then Rafa blimin leaves him outta the starting line up for the Champions League Final when his confidence would have been sky high having been our topscorer in the competition.
Now this season, he's being frozen out altogether, wtf is going on like? It seems the more **** he does, the more likely he is to play and the better he plays/scores the more chance he has of being benched or even left at home.
        I just dont get it.

Well in fairness, Doyle's report seems to be a round-up of tabloid/Tribal piffle (cf the Reina/Atletico 'story'), whereas Bascombe's merely says there have been "indications" that Crouch is stalling on "possible" contract talks. He seems to be saying no contract has been offered but there's a mild possibility of some talks but Crouch isn't too fussed. With 2 years left, he's okay for now so why should he be.

          Still not having it.

perhaps its more to do with the players around him? for instance now hypiaa is not in the team you wont get hoof balls from him and perhaps he doesnt suit our style as much now.

It's the same situation as Riise.

They are both good enough for a team that fights for a CL place but not for a team that fights it out to win the league.

                CL place.....Crouch
                League title.......Torres

Liverpool boss Benitez makes icy Crouch warning
                    tribalfooball.com - September 30, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has fired an icy warning to striker Peter Crouch over his future at Anfield.

Benitez has told Crouch he'll go the same way as Djibril Cisse if he continues to moan about the lack of action he's seeing.

"Cisse is a good striker with pace and we must be aware of him on Wednesday," Benitez warned. "He had enough games to prove he was a good player. Sometimes I asked him to play as a winger and he was unhappy about that.

"Now I hear that Crouch is saying he is unhappy that he can't reach his ideal level because he isn't playing enough games.

"Like in Cisse's case, I need to think about the squad and the team - and not one player. "There is competition in each position in a top side and that can be hard. But that is the situation."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If Crouch isnt moaning, then were is Rafa hearing it from? Surely he can speak to the bloke to find out if its bollocks or not before speaking to the press?

Just on Hyppia. There is the model professional and Crouch could learn from him.He plays now and again but always put in good performances when called upon.He just gets on with it and stays positive. He wished agger was'nt injured lately and said our squad and team are better with him even if it means Sami missed out.Total team player and fame never went to his head.

Crouch has a point. He can't continue like like this. He need to play more games but I doubt very much that he will play more than he do now for us.

We really don't need him and Crouch don't need us if he continue to be benched or not in the squad at all.

The best for both would be if we sell him in January.

hope he does go in jan rather than run down his contract even further. not the worst player we ever had but not up to it this year. seeing the talent of torres has been a real eye opener for me.

so say he goes in jan, who do we replace him with??? and will he go for imo his value 12m or will it be less??? we tend to get ****ed over in the transfer market when selling players
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I wouldn't replace him with another striker. We already have Torres, Kuyt, Voronin and Babel.

Kuyt can go. I wouldn't miss him at all.
