Why is everyone so keen to get rid of Crouch in January? Even if Rafa decides he hasnt got a future at the club surely he'll be sold in the summer. Even people who are dissing him on here recognise how important he is to our european campaign. IMO there's absolutely no chance Rafa will sell him in January....he'd be stupid to and it would make a mockery of his rotation system.

...and who realistically are we gonna replace him with in January who's not cup-tied and offers the same possibilities?

Wouldnt be surprised to see Crouch sign a new deal at the end of the season.

Crouch will only have 18 months left on his contract in January and 12 next summer. A guess is that we can get around £12m for him in January and £6m-£7m next summer.

There is no chance that Rafa will be prepared to wait until the summer for Crouch to sign a new deal, if we have offered him one.

As I said, we really don't need to replace him. Babel can take Crouch place upfront instead. We have other options on the right/left midfield now when Aurelio is fit and Kewell will also be back soon.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Who is going to pay £12mil for someone in Jan when they can wait a few months and get him cheaper?

A club that really need a new striker or has started the season in a bad way.

Arsenal will need a striker in January and February to replace Adebayor. Crouch is the same type of striker. Not a big chance but just an example.

Man C is after a striker and Sven likes Crouch.

would not be against a swap deal involving:

              crouch - martins
              crouch - richards
              crouch - berbatov
              crouch - defoe
              crouch - anelka

as af11 said babel possibly could do a job for now anyways

I dont think City will be spunking 12mil in January no matter how much Sven likes Crouch.

As for Arsenal, they'll probably play Walcott.

12 m fr crouch would represent a good deal and a profit for a change

city or newcastle - especially withfat sams hoof the ball forward tactics

                    12 million? No chance

But yeh i could see how Crouch would fit in with Arsenal's Pacey attack

If as many are saying, City are pushing for Europe, I doubt they will sell Micah Richards mid season. Anelka signed a new contract with Bolton didnt he or atleast said he was staying put. Defoe and Berbatov? Cant see it, and besides, Spurs may well have a new manager by then and who is to say he will want Crouch or be willing to get rid of them. Martins is an interesting choice but the way Sam Allardyce carries on Id be surprised if we had anything to do with him.

i think anelka would up sticks and move if we came in for him
i know ricards wont go anywhere mid season but would be a cracking buy for us and the future, come the summer his price will have inflated further.

spurs new manager will be appointed shortly after we thump them at home and hopefully amaze berbtov to move to us after sampling our famous atmosphere.

martins has a buy out clause and fatboy could do **** all about it if we match his valuation ???? i think

Thing is with Anelka, why would we go in for him now? Rafa has had ample oppertunity to do so before now when he has been more available.

Richards I cant see coming. I cant see him giving up a first team place at a team that seem to be on the move to sit on the bench with us.

Berbatov, well he is a decent enough player but again, Spurs are the most likely team to break the top 4 so he may well stick around for that.

Martins, I dont know. He seems decent like but I havent seen much of him to say wether Id want him or not. Are other big clubs sniffing around him?

Adebayor and Crouch are totally different.Adebayor has pace to burn and is more skillful and better all round. The way people on here go on about Crouch you would swear he is something special.
He is an average player who has done a bit better than expected here.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
