Really good turnout at Warrington tonight.
      £5 to get in.

Kick off delayed by 15 mins to allow everybody in,
the egg chasers didn't know what had hit them.

Couldn't work out wether Plessis had a good game or not, he seemed a bit lost at times in the middle of the park.
A lot of over hit balls and some of them didn't seem really interested at times, some of our lads also seem a bit lightweight.

I thought Musampa was the difference for them.

Would love to see a Liverpool "B" Team maybe starting in the Unibond if needs be.
Can't see this ever happening or ever being allowed though.

The difference between us and Arsenal is that they have had many years to come up with a good training program.

This is our first real season with a lot of new youngsters. It will get better put it takes time. You can't expect them to deliver straight away.

Every team with 20-30 new players will get it difficult to perform as a team so it will look worse on the pitch than it really is.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The problem i mentioned is not something that can be trained in to them. Pace is something you have or haven't got, size and power are the same.

Most of Wengers buys have these attributes, its their other attributes that then give the team a dimension, the slick passing and awareness is what is trained in to them.

Apart from Darby i can't see any of the local/UK lads making it, some of the foreign signings are baffling, Brouwer would do well in the lower leagues, Huth would be ok in Spain or South America they do not have the pace for the Premiership.

With regards to the other 30+ kids we've not seen play yet, i am willing to give them time. But surely Rafa should be scouting players with Pace, power and skill as THE three main attributes to insure success in the Premiership?
          We come not to play.

Rafa is a very hard man to figure out.Crowther from Stockport who is 19 is a mad signing. If he was going to make it he would have done so by now I feel.
Did we pay a fee for him?
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
            everyone wants to know

I think our academy players are better prospects. Ecclestone looks like a really good talent. Quick, skillful and with a good vision.

Insua and Spearing are probably the only ones in the reserves that have a chance to make it with Insua as the best bet.

I'm happy if just one/season comes through. We are a top class team so it will be extremely difficult for a youngster to make the final step.

                yep, i think we did.

Sometimes players develop when they get older Ian Wright for instance, hopefully Crowther is the same.

Another problem is the lack of games 10 competitive games? thats a joke, i don't understand why this is not increased so every Premiership reserve team plays against one another home and away.

Or let reserve teams/b teams be entered in to the lower leagues or have feeder clubs so these youngsters get the much needed experience in competitive games.
                  We come not to play.

We didn't get to see too much of him but I like the look of that Marvin Pourie lad, has scored some sweet goals for the U-18s already

I thought first half we struggled and Sunderland were clearly the better team, however has to put into perspective as they had some very experienced players on the pitch and we had essentially a youth team. Second half we were much better and I thought Spearing, Insua & San Hose played very well - actually thought it was a poor decision to bring on Threlfall (sp?) as we looked disjointed when we pushed Insua further up.

Looking forward to seeing the likes of Lucas, Leto & Hobbs etc included for the Scum game next week

I believe Pachecho and the two hungarian lads are on international duty.

Aye, bound to be on the bench. Personally I’d start Leto.

but it will probably be Aurelio/Riise on the left side.

I read an interview with Wenger recently where he said that one of the requirements when they get their young players is that they have to be able to play for the first team if required. That's not to say they will automatically go into the first team squad.

I didn't see the ressies last night, but I would be surprised if any of them get anywhere near the first team in the next couple of years.
                              Oh I don't know.
