I take Dean Ashton out of that lot. Similar to Kuyt in that he runs his bollocks off except he has a decent pop at the goal once in a while.

In saying that, each time I read people saying that Kuyt lives in a hut outside the area, I see highlights of him having a few shots on goal. If he tucked away a few he would be praised.

This must rate as one of the worst threads ever.

Kuyt & Crouch are both excellent players in a squad of excellent talent

Kuyt starts more than most so he must be doing exactly what Rafa wants
His workrate and link play is fantastic, yes he could score more goals but he's not picked as the poacher. Once his partnership with Torres gets going the goals will come.

Crouch never lets his team down and he surprises me with his all round game
He's a better player than he gets credit for. He's scored some great goals as well. Even so I think he'll never be first choice over T&K, because of that he may look elsewhere.

As for that list of comparisons ....:whatever:

Listen mate, you really need to think things out before posting **** like this.
No argument or facts to back anything up at all...... Of course, your opinion is as valid as anyone elses but in the absence of any credibility.............

          Oh, and welcome!!

Go easy on the lad, he sounds frustrated at the performances of some of our strikers this season and even though the most of the thread is pants, he's probably right to say PC and DK have not done the business for us so far.

Having said that, the only one on that list I'd actually take over either of them is Ashton. That boy will go places and be a top player one day IMHO.

I'd swap them for Anelka and Ashton.

You obviously haven't seen him play. Or you've just seen like one game.

If anything, Kalou isn't *that* fast. He has a bit of pace but I wouldn't say he's lightning quick at all. As for skill and being able to beat a man, Kalou has shown FAR more than Babel in his very brief time in England. Towards the end of last season, Kalou was looking like he was starting to settle in and was playing a bit better.

Much like Robinho, he needs a good coach, time and confidence. The situation at Chelsea isn't really a great environment for him.

To the guy who said all Macarthy does is score - are you for real?

Hes a striker isnt he? Would you turn down trezeguet or rvn because all they do is score goals? macarthy got 18 goals in the league and scored more goals in other competitions aswell in his debut season for blackburn.

Put him in this liverpool team , he'd match that and score more maybe

To be honest all the Chelsea supporters I talk to think Kalou is an awful player who has improved but seems incapable of keeping the ball. I haven't seen enough of him to reach a conclusive judgement but he has shown nothing to me that implies he will ever become a top player.

I've seen more of Babel so it's not strictly fair to compare but I think there is something about him which bodes well for the future.

mate, Rafa doesnt do strikers who score goals.

kalou hasn't shown anything imho. he's had his moments but he doesn't look anything special. to compare him to babel who's been here for only 2 month is mad.
as far as i'm concerned babel looks by far the more technically gifted and talented player. (whether he'll fulfil it is a different matter altogether).

I think the point being made is essentially that United improved when they got rid of RvN because with a player who offers more it is harder to mark your attack. McCarthy might well score a greater individual tally for us but if it came at the expense of the teams tally then that doesn't help.

At the minute we might benefit from a poacher as we are playing poorly but I think the way to better attacking play as a team is not to introduce a player who is a passenger most of the time.

I'm not saying Kalou is better or will be better than Babel. Not at all. I do think there is a valid comparison in there somewhere however as they are both players who are somewhat caught between wide and striker positions.

I just don't think he's as awful or '****e' as some suggest.

Remember when EVERYONE was going on about how **** Drogba was? They were laughing.

I don't want to toot my own horn but I didn't buy into it then and I don't buy into now. Sometimes you have to look beyond the surface of things.

All I know about Kalou is that I’ve never seen a top level footballer lose possession more often than he does.
