That's three players that shouldn't be playing at all because they are not good enough for a team fighting for the title. Hyypia isn't good enough either but he must play until we have signed a better replacement.

They are taking playing time from players that need to play to get better understanding on the pitch and play themselves into form. You can't do that if you are benched or not playing at all.

We also have a few players that play out of position and that don't help either. Kuyt plays as an hard working attacking midfielder, he is a striker. Babel plays as a winger, he is a striker. Benayoun plays a winger, he is an attacking midfielder.
    Agree with that totally.
    We come not to play.

I've haven't seen such a poor performance in years. It got me thinking has this got something to do with Paco leaving? The past few weeks we haven't looked like we did at the start of the season and lets face it we were lucky against Porto, Portsmouth and Wigan. Against Chelsea, Villa and Sunderland we got at them never let them breath and controlled the game but recently we have sat off and let teams come on to us. Last night and against Porto anytime we got the ball we had 3 or 4 of their players round us just like we did at the start of the season.

Our lads need to take a good long look at themselves this morning and get up for the fight. Stevie doesn't look his best, Carra looked poor last night, Crouch didn't look like he knew how to trap a ball and Momo well that was just a shocking performance from a professional footballer. I also think we missed Alonso big time. He's the player that puts his foot on the ball and always finds his man. He makes us tick and I think the past couple of weeks have only confirmed this. I still think we'll qualify but I hope I never see what can on be described as a piss poor performance again this season.

Onwards and upwards and all that and lets tonk Spurs on Sunday.
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

We can't pass for ****. Untill we pass it better we will continue being ****. That games proved that Rafa not playing Torres against Pompy made no difference. If we can't string two passes together Torres won't score.

We are playing **** at the moment and we have to improve. We will do, I just hope it's quick enough.
Someone mentioned yesterday that Babel has only been told how to defend by Rafa nothing on the attacking side.

        Surely this can't be right.
        We come not to play.

If that was the sole reason for him doing it then he needs to have a re-think if the performances of Sisssoko and Crouch of late are anything to go by, they are so far off the pace its embarrassing.

Well I really hope that rafa and the players get their **** together sharpish. Oct is a tough month in the league and we could be well out of the title race by early Nov if we continue with this diabolic form and unnecessary rotation

I couldnt agree more. Pool play **** and it makes you think that they will try harder the next game, then it just doesnt happen?? The performances to date have been very poor. (wow we beat Derby and Reading well) I bet you the Spurs game wont be any better. At best we will scrape a 1 goal margin win.

The way we are playing I'd take 3 points if offered. I'm actualy afraid that we'll lose again

This result has been coming big time.

Fair play to Marsielle though - they were excellent.
Agreed mate. to a certain extent anyway. there is no creativity at all. thought leto was way out of his depth last night but him and benayoun never got any service. a lot of it was down to momo who must have been playing with his eyes closed but we need to sort it out. we have the best player in brazil last year in our squad and now is the perfect time to give him a test.

did i miss something as well. where was babel last night
                    in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

I would rather watch a family member have a heart attack than that piece of **** masquerading as a 'team game' yesterday. Sissoko must have been on sleeping tablets and Gerrard was as anonymous as a letter bomber.

                          Confession time:

I got a ticket for last night's game on the automatic ticket scheme. My lad was playing footy for his school in Altrincham and the match should have finished at half past five so I travelled the 15 miles from work to watch the second half and drive him home as it was pissing down.

The other team were late so the match didn't finish until twenty to six, still 2 hours before kick off. However, by the time he'd ****ed about taking the nets down and getting changed then we'd driven home to Sale through the traffic (four miles takes about twenty five minutes), it was twenty past six. When I got home, the house was lovely and warm and the wife was just serving dinner. At that point, with the rain still pissing it down and a drive to Liverpool taking about an hour, for the first time ever I thought "**** it, I can't be arsed going"...

Until the match started I felt really guilty; apart from anything else, the ticket had cost me £34. As soon as we kicked off and I watched the game on Sky my emotions changed and I was so glad I'd copped out of going...

That's a terrible admission I know and I expect to get loads of stick for it but for once I didn't go "through the wind and rain" and, sadly, I don't regret it for one minute...

I was thinking the same thing. Our style of play involves pressing the opposition, especially at Anfield when we're in their faces. And yet last night none of our players ever got close to theirs - it was embaressing Sunday league stuff - they had acres of space and could play little 1-2's around our lot all night . .... . thus ripping our defence apart when they got to them.

Is this something to do with energy levels and Pako's absence? Could his training regime be responsible for our high temp play and since he has gone, the training is not allowing our players to play their game as we know it?
Could our players be over tired from a different training regime?? Something has happened coz we have now been **** and lethargic in our last 4 or 5 games.

A special mention to Momo - exceptional at Sunderland, pants when he's played recently culminating in last nights Sunday league showing. Is he fasting for Ramadan still - if so he should sit out any remaining matches whilst the period is still ongoing as it may have drained him. The one thing you can usually rely on Momo for is his wrecking ball approach - at the very least you know he will get around the pitch and win more challenges than he loses, but last night espcially, all I can remember him doing is trying to challenge and either being way of the pace or tripping up on his own feet, either way ending up on his arse as a player runs past him.

£34 seems a little bit to much to watch a team play **** football but that what we should do. Support the team when they are playing **** and excellent football.

The team needs our support now more than they have in a long time.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
