Just go sit in the corner. Riise will text you when we want you to come back.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think he topped the premiership stats for the number of tackles by a Liverpool player in a season or something like that. That doesn't mean he's the best tackler we've got in the midflied. That will be Mascherano by some distance IMO.Originally posted by AFII View PostAlonso is our best tackler. That is a fact.
Anyway back to Momo.
I never really understood why we bought him to be honest but I was pretty impressed for the first few months of his Liverpool career - in fact at one point IIRC, it was looking like Rafa was selecting Momo + one of Alonso/ Gerrard. But he always had deficiencies in his play - composure, passing and giving away fouls galore were the stand out areas for me - Didi Hamann he isn't and he probably never will be.
He doesn't look to be good enough to play for a first XI which needs to challenge for major trophies. I suppose would do ok for certain games where he would have a specific job function like he has proved in the past i.e. to break up play and give to to the nearest red shirt, but he can't be seen as a critical part of our set-up.
Lucas Leiva looks to be one for the future but from what I've seen so far, looks to be a very tidy player.
If we sign Mascherano on a permanent basis in the summer (a no brainer surely), then Momo's time is up.

Can you see him putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with the lack of opportunities he's currently having? He must look at Momo (selected ahead of him in the CL) and think 'if I can't beat him to the midfield slot what the f*** am I doing here'?Originally posted by Los Rojos View PostIf we sign Mascherano on a permanent basis in the summer (a no brainer surely), then Momo's time is up.

He can of course change his mind but he has already agreed personal terms beyond this season with us.Originally posted by chrispy View PostCan you see him putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with the lack of opportunities he's currently having? We will sign him on a permanent deal if something strange don't happen.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

That is how he must have felt at West Ham.. Nigel Quasimodo ahead of him in the team...Originally posted by chrispy View PostCan you see him putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with the lack of opportunities he's currently having? He knows Rafa rates him very highly and saved him from his hell at West Ham. He will be a key first team player this season."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
