thing with Momo is that his strengths are his speed, athleticism and the fact he's a bloody nuisance to opponents. his weaknesses are anything where he HAS the ball.
he's ideal against teams we expect to dominate possession against us. he's a problem in games where we need possession ourselves.

he's the kind of player ideal against a team thats better than the team he's in. his job is to get in the way and hassle the opposition into having less time, and have the athleticism to force opponents to have to beat him more than once because he gets back in position again quickly.

if that analysis is correct, then there's probably no place for him in a team built to be the best. because he'll only really shine when playing teams who are better than us. for the most part, the teams we play aren't.

i see very few situations where momo is the best option in midfield. he has his uses, but the better the team is, the less those uses are needed.

See this is the kind of sweeping generalization that I disagree with.

Momo's passing, yesterday aside, this season has been awesome. It was miles better than last season. But for some reason, people only see his bad performances, only see his mistakes and form their opinion based on that.

Everyone slagging Momo needs to go back and see his previous games and confirm that their opinion is valid. I don't think it is.

Just because he has one crap game, playing with an out of form partner, doesn't mean he's crap.

he had a bad game and the incident in question was a mistake. all players do it frm time to time. to be honest, he would have been subbed but there were sh1t performances all over the park from our lot so rafa was problably struggling to see who was playing worst. we only have 3 subs remember.That's total bollox I'm afraid to say. Momo was THE standout performance for all the wrong reasons. Sure , others weren't good but Momo was woeful.
we all just have to write off last night and hope its the kick up the arse we need based on recent performances. personally im glad it was in the CL groups and not the prem and not CL knockout. it'll be good for us.

I wouldnt sell momo for 6 as i think he's drastically improved already this season. its impossible for any player to play well when the 10 on the pitch with him are having a mare. to isolate momo last night is totally unfair. they were all sh1t Don't you mean that it's hard for others to perform when Momo is having a mare, cause the goose kept giving the ball back to the opposition. I would say he has had the occasional decent game, one or two barnstormers and mainly poor performances since he came. If a team needs a player to disrupt the opposition and nothing else, he's perfect, but we cannot afford to carry someone who has such poor technique.

Momo has terrific ball control skills, but it's just his passing (his concentration seems a problem) which lets him down. It's one thing controlling the ball, but another skill passing it properly. In that sense you can say his passing technique is not good enough which is a fair reflection.

Momo seems to be having a crisis of confidence mate. It's obvious. And the booing wouldn't have helped the lad the other night, because you could see he was hurting and angry with himself. Supporters need to help players in such circumstances and try to chin them up. We know he has the talent, as shown by these clips, so some of us fans need to be less fickle in criticizing players.

I was touching onto that yesterday. Even if we're frustrated by an individuals performance, we need to have a bit of common sense and acknowledge that nobody is perfect. With the needed support & help around him, Momo will turn out to be one of the best midfielders in the world. That's a fact.
