If most of us performed as badly at work as Momo does we'd be sacked, let's be honest here. Just imagine if you were an HGV driver and you had to make a delivery to ASDA's, by Momo's standards you'd end up delivering to bloody Tesco's instead.

As a person from what i've read he's a lovely bloke and has all the time for fans who want autographs and he shows commitment and willingness but he can't actually put it all to practical use. I'm not just blaming Momo, the whole team were crap last night it's just everytime Momo got the ball he gave it away and when you're sat there watching it happen constantly it's what sticks in your mind. I've obviously upset a few on here judging by the remarks but I thought that was what this forum was about - having a conversation without all the snide remarks you expect at Koptalk. I'm obviously mistaken

I agree with you that it can't get any worse for some reason.
The only way his passing can get worse than last night is if he starts passing the ball into our net.

I think Momo has been an invaluable member of our first team over the last couple of years. I think of him similar to Crouch. Crouch helped us retain possession when we cud not hold on to the ball in away games. Same with Momo. He made sure that we wont get bossed around in midfield.

But I think as a team we are evolving. Some time in the future, considering the investment made in the team and the youngsters, I want to see a team which goes to places like Madrid, Nou Camp and play actual neat football.
With Xabi, Stevie G and Mascher we have a core of highly technical football who must be able to play Pass and Move. Add Torres to that mix and possibly another high class attacking player we have the core of a very good team. A team which can go to any ground in the world and stamp their class.

Unless Momo himself develops as a player - both positionally and ability wise - I dont see him starting in such a team. His idol should be Gattuso. Unless he develops like him I see him only as a squad member behind even Leiva.

But if I was manager he'd have been the obvious change to have made.

It's really hard to diagnose a performance as lifeless as that so soon after Porto and with them all talking the "we'll learn from Porto" bollocks in the Echo.
Momo, Leto and Crouch should have been dragged off at half to be honest. As a team we were ****, but I personally put these in the top bracket of ****ness last night.

he's ideal against teams we expect to dominate possession against us. he's a problem in games where we need possession ourselves.

he's the kind of player ideal against a team thats better than the team he's in. his job is to get in the way and hassle the opposition into having less time, and have the athleticism to force opponents to have to beat him more than once because he gets back in position again quickly.

if that analysis is correct, then there's probably no place for him in a team built to be the best. because he'll only really shine when playing teams who are better than us. for the most part, the teams we play aren't.

i see very few situations where momo is the best option in midfield. he has his uses, but the better the team is, the less those uses are needed.

I guess you posted this when I was typing mate. More or less whatever I said, but said in a better way.

I wish people wouldn't sit on the fence.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."
