Do we have a good enough squad to win the league?

I don't think we have that. We are missing out on the wings and in our central defense. We have two excellent central defenders but that's about it, no good enough cover.

On the wings we have Pennant, Benayoun, Babel and Stevie as options on the right. Benayoun, Stevie and Babel isn't wingers. That leaves Pennant.

He isn't good enough for a team that is fighting for the title.

On the left we have Riise, Aurelio, Leto, Kewell and Babel.

Riise isn't good enough, Aurelio is a wing back, Leto is still adapting, Kewell is injured and Babel isn't a winger.

That leaves Riise and Aurelio as our best options. Not any good is it?

We are also missing a player to play behind Torres. Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch isn't good or creative enough for a title chasing side.


Rafa need to sell a few players in January that we don't really need.

Sissoko, Riise and Crouch can be sold without any replacement brought in. We have enough players to cover in the positions they play in.

Pennant and Hyypia can be sold but we would then need to sign replacements for them.

In short, we need a second striker, a right midfielder(winger), a central defender and a left sided midfielder(winger).

Then we will have a squad that can win the title.

i think he is a great manager - best in the world and will win us the league this year

after we beat derby most people were wettin themselves that this was the year

as far as i am aware or think we have had a bad little run that will be put right sunday yet in the league we remain undefeated - i also think our squad is the best in the league and our first choice 11 what ever it is ! is the best

rafa it is true is a little over cautious but all managers have kinks for want of a better word. but this is also the man who won us the cl with a very average team. he clearly can motivate.i just personally he is not too stubborn - i have no facts to prove or disprove this.
he is slow to change a game yes but the final proof is in the pudding surely ? it is october and people are quick to write us off with no foundation

when rafa took over we lost many away game s- i heard people say we are no better off than with gh . yet he won us the cl with astute tactics - the game sen route were fantstic . if you had told these people when burnley were knocking us outta the fa cup that we would win the cl they would of laughed

call it one eyed or blind faith but rafa will bring home the pl this year and many people on here will be eating a large slice of humble pie

I don't have a better name than Rafa, but seriously, am I not allowed to have doubts about his ability to win us the league? I love the fella and he has 1000 times the knowledge of the game than me, but still at times he frustrates me a lot.

He has takes us giant steps forward, but at times I have doubts, in particular when it comes to:

1. an overtly cautious approach
2. some of his buys (which can of course be said about all managers..)
3. his lack of inventiveness when it comes to changing a match.
4. I also think that LFC are not a good enough club to rest our key players.

So there, I am not on a wind up.

Well, Fletcher can at least pass the ball and he can play on the right.

Sheva is a better player than Kuyt, Crouch, Voronin. We don't know if he would play better for us. It can't be easy for him to play for a team knowing that your team mates thinks that you are the owners love pet.

Silvestre is probably as good as our current left backs.

O'Shea isn't a good player but he is still not any worse than Sissoko or our current left backs and he usually deliver a solid performance the few times he plays. He is a better squad player than Sissoko who needs a game or two after a rest to get going again.

I also said that I wouldn't sign any of them because they are Mancs or Chavs and not good enough.

We played average against Pompey and **** against Birmingham and Wigan. That's three games.

We didn't deserve a point against Pompey or to beat Wigan. We got what we deserved against Birmingham, a point, nothing more.

In short, we have been very lucky that we got five points when we really only deserved one or two.

No offense, but your statement above proves that you are suffering from an acute form of 'blind' faith. The fact that you said that our best 11 (whatever that is) is the best in the league is just plain wrong.

As I said earlier, I'm not doubting that Rafa is an incredible manager but he has his faults and weaknesses just like all other managers.

I hope Rafa brings home no 19 this season but hand on heart we will have to improve our performances dramatically for that to happen.

and in a season most teams have a "bad" - drawin 2 and winning 1 in 3 games during ours is not enough to have me on suicide watch

We don't have the best right winger, left winger, left back, second striker in the league. Our other players in our best eleven is up there.
