Who cares about what other teams do and don't have?

Fact is we've got some players who just aren't cutting it.

And this is Rafa's squad now. There are only 5 remaining from the Houllier era: Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia, Finnan and Riise.

So no more excuses. This is his squad and team. He assembled it.

Of course not every manager gets every signing right, but recently Rafa's gotten a few wrong IMO. Kuyt being one, sorry just nowhere near good enough or what we need. Crouch has faded away badly. Pennant just isn't consistent enough. Aurelio is never fit. Sissoko just can't play at the top level. Opinion is still divided on Riise.

These players are all replaceable, and we can do better. We need to.
    I hate Polanski

That's spot on! You should post more.

Seriously - that is the way I see it too. We need a stronger squad to be into heavy rotation.

Tower of power to you sir

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

On the wings we have Pennant, Benayoun, Babel and Stevie as options on the right. Benayoun, Stevie and Babel isn't wingers. That leaves Pennant.

He isn't good enough for a team that is fighting for the title.

On the left we have Riise, Aurelio, Leto, Kewell and Babel.

Riise isn't good enough, Aurelio is a wing back, Leto is still adapting, Kewell is injured and Babel isn't a winger.

That leaves Riise and Aurelio as our best options. Not any good is it?

We are also missing a player to play behind Torres. Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch isn't good or creative enough for a title chasing side.

Rafa need to sell a few players in January that we don't really need.

Sissoko, Riise and Crouch can be sold without any replacement brought in. We have enough players to cover in the positions they play in.

Pennant and Hyypia can be sold but we would then need to sign replacements for them.

In short, we need a second striker, a right midfielder(winger), a central defender and a left sided midfielder(winger).

Then we will have a squad that can win the title.

        IMO of course.
To answer your original question - no.

And I am also not sure if we have the manager to do it.

Just because someone says that he isn't sure that we will win the league with Rafa doesn't mean that he has taken us backwards.

If you look at our latest games and results then they are not good enough. We have played our worst football since Houllier left, probably even as worse as we played with Houllier.

If we don't play any better the next month then our chance to win the league and CL will more or less be over and to be fair, nothing points to that we will suddenly start to play excellent football.

We have played **** and the players have said that it won't happen again but it happened again the next game. The players then says that it won't happen again but yet again we play **** football.

The Spurs game on Sunday and the Everton game after the internationals are probably the two most important games of the season.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

are you not the same people who slagged fat sam for sayin this ?

and a couple of bad games and ya compate us to houlliers teams

                Relax fella.

I don't have a better name than Rafa, but seriously, am I not allowed to have doubts about his ability to win us the league? I love the fella and he has 1000 times the knowledge of the game than me, but still at times he frustrates me a lot.

He has takes us giant steps forward, but at times I have doubts, in particular when it comes to:

                1. an overtly cautious approach
                2. some of his buys (which can of course be said about all managers..)
                3. his lack of inventiveness when it comes to changing a match.
                4. I also think that LFC are not a good enough club to rest our key players.

So there, I am not on a wind up.

I love Rafa, I think he's been an incredible manager for us but I definitely have my doubts about him ever winning the league for us. It's like Wenger, an incredible manager when it comes to the domestic competitions but pure gash when it comes to European competitions. It doesn't make him a sh!te manager, just that he gears his teams to winning the premiership rather than the CL. Rafa is the exact opposite, his teams feel at home playing in Europe but it is so glaringly obvious that he has yet to fully get to grips with the premiership. I hope he proves me wrong this season but judging from the first few games we've played this season against average opposition I'd say we're still not there yet. Time will tell.

Rafa is not immune from criticism, anyone who thinks he is is a moron and is just as bad as those who constantly criticise him because of some sort of agenda they have against him ie. Rashid

We have a much better team now.
