Good to hear. Although we seem to be linked with a lot of Italian players and nothing seems to come of it.

Actually a large part of me thinks we would be better off bedding in the plethora of new players we already have. At the minute though we need to inject some park back into our game and it is easy to imagine that the best source is an external player. Sometimes I think just playing Kuyt 10 yards further forward would do the trick.

It looks like Rosina won't leave

              Rosina agrees Torino terms
              tribalfooball.com - October 05, 2007

Torino are expected to soon announce the re-signing of Alessandro Rosina to a new deal.

Rosina has agreed terms on a contract through to 2011, which doubles his wages to £850,000-a-year, says Controcampo.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Looks like Mancini can be a realistic option instead....

Roma winger Mancini hopes Lyon try again
                tribalfooball.com - October 05, 2007

Amantino Mancini is ready to quit Roma.

Gazzetta dello Sport says despite public declarations of his commitment to Roma, Mancini wants to leave as soon as he can and is banking on Olympique Lyon returning for him in January.

Gilmar Veloz, Mancini's agent, is due in Rome this month for talks over a new deal with Giallorossi directors, but nothing will be settled as the winger is now determined to leave the capital club.

I think we can get David Villa, most think that's unrealistic. I think we should move heaven and earth to get him.

Well I agree, I'd love us to get him. But I don't think his signing would make all the difference tbh. It's some extra flair we really need. That said, realistically we'll find it tough to get that in January.

Cheers Tribull - he was still a realistic option in the summer though but we didnt move for him then, cant see us making a bid for him in jan either really.

There were a lot of claims at the time (including from the player or maybe his agent) that we made a bid. Presumably the longer he doesn't sign a contract the closer our bid would come to satisfying Roma which I guess is the only way he would become a realistic January target.

Mancini would be a decent signing, but Rafa was quite blunt in the way he closed the door on him this summer, certainly left no hint that we may return to sign the player in the future...

“I was reading stories about Mancini. I can say that Liverpool will not be offering any money for this player.”

Maradonna was one player who made a difference so maybe someone like Messi would, not that it's remotely realistic
