Carra and Hyypia isn't playing well right now because Hyypia can't cope to play two games a week anymore. It will affect the other central defender if one of them is off form.
So in a way, no rotation is to blame this time.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

So its all down to SG is it. He's been below his best so we underperform as a team. In other words we are a 1 man team.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostStevie G has played all of the last few games, and he's been ****. That's got nothing to do with rotation and a whole lot to do with why everyone has been crap, they've had neither the possesion or the service.
Carra and Hyypia were **** today and that has nothing to do with rotation either.
I think your theory is niave.
Nonsense mate. He's our best player and of course his relatively poor form hits us but there are 10 others out there as well. The Marseille performance was very poor, not 1 outfield player produced any sort of performance, and thats all down to SG.:whatever:AKA Heighway No9

Hyypia said as much. Time to give Hobbs a chance.Originally posted by AFII View PostCarra and Hyypia isn't playing well right now because Hyypia can't cope to play two games a week anymore. It will affect the other central defender if one of them is off form.

I agree hobbs is a risk, but sometimes players will rise to the occasion. At the very least play him in the carling cup to see if he can take the step up.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostHobbs is not ready yet from what I've seen, thats why Rafa was so keen to get Heinze. we are short at CB as Aggers loss has shownThe Crushing Machine MKII

The whole team plays 10-15 yards deeper with Hyypia in the team. That means less attacking options and a slower tempo.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostDon't agree, today aside, the defense has been ok. What has been conistently the issue is the CM. Gerrard is in such a bad run of form that the whole CM has been underperforming. We can't retain the ball or distribute to the players in space.
Gerrard is best playing a high tempo game with an attacking team. Not playing a slow tempo game with little space to make his runs.
Our opponent don't need to worry about any quick counter attacks with Agger out because our team plays so deep that it will take to long time to change defense to attack.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

I would have played Hobbs at Reading as well but this for me confirmed Rafa feels he's not yet ready for a regular 1st team slotOriginally posted by SpeedyG View PostI agree hobbs is a risk, but sometimes players will rise to the occasion. You keep saying this, but I think it is BS. We always play a high line and the reason we are comfortable with this is not because of defensive pace, but because we have the ultimate GoalSweeper.Originally posted by AFII View PostThe whole team plays 10-15 yards deeper with Hyypia in the team. I've looked out for this and we have NOT played deeper. The Crushing Machine MKII

Not sure I agree, I think he thought that Rafa wanted to see if Arbeloa could cover for Hyypia if he got injured. If agger was not injured I'm sure Hobbs would have played.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostI would have played Hobbs at Reading as well but this for me confirmed Rafa feels he's not yet ready for a regular 1st team slotThe Crushing Machine MKII

Mascher had the right idea in the second half when he turned and shot. I guess thats why Rafa gave Risse a start in LM. For him to take a couple of long distance shots at goal.
The last thing a goalkeeper low on form needs is a 30-40 yard stevie screamer twisting and turning at him. Outide of the freekicks stevie barely tested the goalkeeper, that disappointed me.
Oh yes. I was saying exactly the same thing while watching the game. We scored our first goal from him spilling the ball, so we really should have employed more of a shoot on sight policy (except for Risse of course who employs this policy every game and succeeds only in gifting the opposition possession by way of a goal kick) and peppered his goal with shots to really test out his confidenceWhite liquid in a bottle = Milk
