The system was working at the start of the season without him. Right now its not working for sure but thats not just because of the tactics, its a combination of things. Lack of communication, injuries, lack of confidence, lack of Gerrard's form. Crouch can rejuvenate the side with this brilliance? I think not. He will play for England by default on Saturday and he was replaced by Heskey. Yes, Heskey, the guy who hasn't got goals for England in god knows how many, has 5 in 40-something and hadn't played for England since 2004.

Now you're telling me that McClown knows more than Rafa?

      Is Kuyt?
      What is his goals ratio?

18 in something like 28 starts last season.

I dont have the exact figure, but it's better than 1 in 2, when he starts games.

Prolific? Drogba is prolific, Van Nistlerooy is prolific, Henry is prolific, Crouch is not. I suppose it depends how you define the word prolific but it's cerainly not a word I'd use to describe Crouch.

Kuyt had a decent return in his first season, not great but decent. He's also, obviously, instructed to play alot deeper no matter what some of you might say. Play him higher up the pitch and he'll score a few more, imho.

Anyway it's late and I've got work in the morning. We'll continue this another time.

You never made it for the beers today, mate. Maybe next time.

If you had the choice out of those strikers, would you take Crouch?

His goal-per-start ratio last season was more than prolific. Better than 1 in 2. Dont see what's happened to invalidate those stats mate.

Unfortunately, we had potential fancard/admission issues today and we needed to enter the ground soon as we'd gathered everyone together. Wasnt ideal today mate, apologies. Next time hopefully though

You're being silly though. We dont have a choice of those strikers.

As for the ones we DO have a choice of, Torres aside, Crouch is the most prolific when he starts.

As i said, 18 in about 28 starts.

Ignore if you wish. But it's prolific.

For your information we're something like a point better off, if that, from the corresponding games last season. And that is in someways a false stat because last season as it came to a close we fielded much weaker sides against Pompy away and then at home to Charlton (substitute for Birmingham), whereas we went with stronger teams this time around. So really we're doing worse than the corresponding matches, it's just that we've had an easier start this season playing against teams like Birmingham, Wigan, Derby and Sunderland.

Did Crouch score in pre season?

Never mind the Premier League, the Port of Rotterdam Trophy is what we REALLY want, right?

Why do you not consider Voronin to be prolific when he starts then?
Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

                            That was a genuine question

It could have been because of his lack of trying in pre season which led to Crouch not being selected as much

He may well be, but i look at 28 starts as being a more accurate barometer than 3 or 4...
