. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
absolutely but as soon as the board went up i said this'll be Voronin. why? because rafa typically takes off the player you'd think was least likely to be taken off?
to work out rafa's subs, follow logic, then go for the opposite, and you'll be able to predict it.
voronin was the ONLY outfield player who was actually playing footy. and showing heart to boot. and he got taken off.
bizarre. for all his strengths i find Rafa too clever by half a lot of the time.
too often he goes against everything i was brought up to believe about football. in these situations we're either dealing with a genius ahead of his time, or we're dealing with someone with serious flaws.
I do. I had a good row with a Porsche driver on Saturday. I called him a tw*t, he said he wasn't so I asked him why he drove like a tw*t in a tw*t's car and he responded by saying that the only reason I don't have a Porsche is because I couldn't afford one, before he gave me the finger and roared off up the road.
It was nice of him to hand me the moral high ground without my doing anything to deserve it.
bah..Had a similar experience last week here in Texas. Only mine was a redneck driving a hummer. The **** cut in on my suddenly without warning when he had to take a right turn.
Voronin has been amazing, born to wear the shirt imo. Touch wood, but this is looking like it could be the prems best partnership since SAS. Rafa needs to stop the tinkering though
I gave you an explanation. You can ignore it in favour of your opinion but I know which I think is worthless.
Incidentally my opinion on the subject would be equally worthless which is why I haven't bothered having one, let alone telling everyone on here about it.
if someone is still running his arse off as effectively as he was before Neil, he's probably fine to continue. there are after all signs of tiredness that can be seen with the eye.
when a player is legging it about with the same intensity as he has all game then it's reasonable to suggest he's not tired enough to have to come off.
there were certainly a lot of lazy arses who couldn't possibly have been tired but showed far too little commitment to the cause. i'd have picked pretty much anyone to come off before voronin yesterday.
tired? he showed no signs of it by the usual indicators.
besides, i'm tired of picking players based on "energy levels". how about a bit of quality.
how about the team playing football for a change. what happened to pass and move?
why do liverpool players have to beat a man in order to find a passing option as happened three times yesterday.
i'm unhappy with so much at the moment i really am. can you tell.

I just had a blue van almost knock me off at a crossroads because I had the effrontery to go on his inside while he was waiting at the junction. I wouldn't have done it if the fool had actually been indicating he was going to turn left. How silly of me not to realise he wasn't going to go straight across. :whatever:

It's a massive ****in concern isn't it? He brought off Arbeloa for Babel, logical as we were 2-1 down. Then his changes made no sense Pennant - who was woeful yet again - for Kuyt, and Kuyt played wide right, a position which he looked completely ill at ease with. Then Voronin - who played well for Benayoun. Why not just take Pennant off for Benayoun and put him on the right?
Sure we got our of jail this time. But I get the horrible feeling that Rafa is trying tactical changes like these in hope rather than expectation.
Add in the fact that there are a few first team regulars who have now been found out, and it's a bad combination.

The only logic I can see in that substitution is that Kuyt will provide some protection against Bale. Maybe Rafa did not want us to get caught in counter attacks. Not that I am agreeing with him or anything.
