I honestly don't think I could choose between Cech and Pepe right now. I have no doubts that when they first came to England Cech was superior but now I don't think I could say - Cech seems to have regressed somewhat since he got that nasty head injury. Plus Cech was shocking in the pen shootout in the CL semi.

We've got a £2m fee for loaning him out for the season? No doubt we got something similar from Charlton last season as well, we haven't paid his wages for 2 years and we'll probably sell him at the end of the season for at least £5m.
If Craig Gordon is worth £9m then Carson is worth £10m
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Reina is the most complete keeper in the world.

        He dominates in the box.
        He has very good skill.
Is the best keeper sweeper in the world.
Can start quick counter attacks thanks to his excellent long throws or kicks.
        Is excellent stopping penalties.
        Is excellent on the line.

In short, he is the best keeper in the world.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree, I think he's worth more than £5m, especially if he gets capped, but I just decided on a conservative estimate of his value. We've already had £2m for him, so if we get another £5m that's £7m in total, ignoring whatever fee Charlton paid us for his services. Decent business.

I think Pepe is right up there, but he'll need to convince me of his decision making before I acclaim him as the best keeper in the world. He seems somewhat fallible and rash when under pressure.

there's already a deal in place for carson to move to villa permanatly if villa want it, wouldn't be too surprised to see it happen in jan, swell the coffers a bit more

Any ideas what the fee would be? I could see us getting stung this way as whatever fee we'd have put in there would probably be quite low as they've already paid us £2m for loaning him. Good keepers are in short supply so I think we could get a pretty penny for him by engineering a bidding war.

no clue whatsoever, maybe they've left it open?

theres some good keepers out there but hardly any great ones, id class Pepe as a great keeper even at this early ish stage of his career. I wouldnt swap him for anyone. (even if i rate cech very highly).

Gordon vs Carson could be the best two we have seen in a long time. It will only time till Gordon goes to a bigger side.

Personally, I would prefer we continue to loan him out until the situation with the european laws are settled. If we have to have a certain number of english players then that is a potential benefit.

If we do sell him, I think we should have a buy back and a sell on clause so that we could take him back, or if he goes to arsenal or the scum we still get some more money.

I would say yes, if the right offer comes in sell him. Great business and good for the lad, not to mention the English National set up, then again like I give or most of you lot give a flying monkeys about that
