        Bring back Michael Owen.

We should have done it in the summer for £9million.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I'm not an Owen fan, but your arguement does make sense.

I am not an Owen fan either

I hate the way he shafted us in 2005 and I am glad Stevie and Carra have nice shiny medals to show him

but I want what is best for the team and replacing an unhappy Peter Crouch with a blissfully happy Michael Owen makes a lot of sense

pity a certain air taxi company will prolly go out of business tho
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

If we get any player plus 7 million for Crouchy I'll be satisfied because I still think 7 million is a fair price for him.
OK, if you accept he's an England player then he could probably go for something like 40 million but in actual fact, he's an unhappy player who is not getting his game and is not far off seeing his contract out.

Whether it be Owen or whoever, I won't be disappointed with that, so long as we spend that 7 million on someone who will improve the team, like a good winger.

I would definitely keep Kuyt...he is a legend in the making.

Ashton would be great, as would Berbatov...but he would be unlikely.

Agbonlahor would also be a good signing although I would suggest that he is a future star rather than being ready for Champions League stardom.

It may not be too late for Crouch, Rafa likes him and stuck by him when he first came here. If he knuckles down he may still have a future.

I agree with DS, Babel up top and get a top quality LM in.

Owen is only fit one game prior to international matches...what's the point buying him?

                          Play Babel up front

Why is nobody asking serious questions about Dean Ashton??

I suggested Ashton back in June and nobody gave it a second thought. At least 4 people have mentioned him on this thread

I've also advocated Dean Ashton in the past but he is now recovering from his 2nd major injury in 3 seasons. He's gone

I dislike Owen, he's a little judas turd but there's no doubting his ability when fit (which is once in a blue moon).
Well some daft **** has to pay off that obscene contract he has just now.

Can't in a month of Sundays see Rafa signing him.
