They both were / are exceptional players like many other great Dutch players who were a success abroad. However, Alves is a fairly second or third rate Brazilian in my opinion which is why he's still playing for a small Dutch club despite desperately trying to engineer a move away for the last six months...There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

But bergkamp was just such a gamble as was RVN (even only for injury reasons)!

I agree about Nistelrooij with his knee injury but Bergkamp was an established Dutch international who'd been a success at Ajax and won the UEFA Cup in his short spell with Inter.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostCan see your perspective

You're probably right, my memory is pretty screwed right now, so arguing otherwise would probably embarrass me

Alves reminds me of Romario TBH.
He does sweet **** all, then pounces on the first opportunity.
One things for certain. He is a better finisher than anyone at our club
He has a bit of an attitude though apparently"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

He is a 21 year old central defender from Iceland. He is quick, good vision, skillful and good in the air. He can carry the ball out of defense even that he isn't as good as Agger doing it.Originally posted by thekop View PostHave you got any info on him AFII
Thanks in advance
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
