Torres no diver, but Gerrards a hypocrite

    TORRES NO DIVER
    11/10/2007

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres says he has stopped diving - because skipper Steven Gerrard does not like cheats in his side.
The Spanish star said: "Here, they're not going to whistle for anything if you fall over. There's no point feigning anything because referees are fooled less.
"Moreover, it's your own team-mates like Steven Gerrard who don't like you using those tricks."
Torres was made captain of Atletico Madrid at 19 but now realises he failed to carry out the role correctly.
"Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are the first in every thing and it's contagious," he added. "The fact that the most iconic of players and the captain at this club are so interested in getting things right says a lot about the team.
"They're details which make me realise that I didn't do these things as captain of Atletico."

Thats a bit rich coming from Stevie
"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Agreed - Stevie is getting somewhat of a rep for going down to easily. Needs to cut it out. I noticed Masher did a bit of dive in the box against spurs at the weekend
Glad to hear Torres saying this though - he goes up in my estimation daily.

Go to hear something like that coming from a player, especially a foreign player.

Didn't hear many of us moan about Gerrard going down easily in the 2005 CL final though.

He did go down a little easy and the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Why should Stevie be given a yellow card - you're not making any sense!!

For making the foul look a lot worse than it was. Gattuso should have walked because he was the last man.

No sense in in yellow carding a diver, and give him a pen?

It make very much sense if it's a foul and the player makes it look worse than it's, play acting.

The result, a penalty and a yellow for play acting.

He wasn't the last man the centre backs were closing in.

if they are both guilty of commiting a foul, surely its something like a drop ball. stop speaking rubbish.
