understand, but i find him honest and not afraid to say that the team is playing
                    poorly.
Souness is good on rte, but thats kinda my point, compare him on rte to him on sky???? totaly different imho, but i do accept ur point.
can't stand hansen by the way

Jim Beglin? Desperate, always moaning - an armchair manager with a salary.
Lawro? Generally inoffensive - if that's a good thing...
Alan Hansen? Too cliche'd for me ...grit, determination, yadya, yadya. Knows he's not funny either - becomes self concscious.
                          Barry Venison? Don't know.
                          Jamie Redknapp? Don't know.
                          Ronnie Whelan? Not great
                          Jan Molby? Don't know.
                          Jason McAteer? Is he punditing!!!!
                          Steve McManaman? As above!!!!!!
                          Gary Mac? Don't know.
Ray Houghton? Possibly the worst co-commentator on TV. Mr 'could've/should've'. Like Beglin, never knows when to shut up. Always see's the worst side of a situation.
Ian Rush? Not bad on SSN when I've seen him...
Phil Thompson? I think he's a chancer. Seems to be making up his points as he speaks.
                          David Fairclough? Okay on radio.
                          Alan Kennedy? Don't know.
Graeme Souness? Not bad on RTE - but he does have to deal with the best football pundits on TV in these Isles....
                          Kenny Dalglish? Don't know.
John Toshack? Not great - difficult to watch.
                          Gary Gillespie? Don't know.
                          John Aldridge? Not great either.
                          Nigel Spackman? Don't know.
Paul Walsh? Good on SSN, I think.
                          So, Walsh, Souness, Rush.

                          Frank
                          Francis.

...."Any team that concedes as few goals as we concede is going to be tough to play against..." - Fernando Torres on Liverpool

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

                          A defensive mid for £18m?

Souness was excellent for RTE during the World Cup last year.

He always talks sense but has trouble keeping the wood nymph Dunphy from disappearing up his hole.

Disagree about Houghton - I always think his views are very fair. I don't think he is being negative, he's just not afraid to speak his mind instead of blabbering on with inanities and banal cliches like Lawro.

Haven't heard Ronnie Whelan do much commentary but his column is always fair and incisive.
A humble guy with healthy desire.
