The way forward has to be bringing the youngsters in from the reserves/youth teams. They must be given a chance eventually to prove themselves. Last night in the reserves i thought Hobbs, San Jose and Insua did well.

The fact that most people thought Beniyoun was a good buy was because he would not have to waste time adjusting to life.
Basically, a club like Spurs who may have mediocre English talent will have much more of a chance of winning the league than us in years to come because the majority of their team, which may have to be English players will be better than we we will provide through our academy. If our academy is so great how come Gerrard was the last player to successfully come through almost a decade ago.

don't give a **** about english players to be honest, we need a scouse spine ofcourse, and i would love to see up and comming local lads come up, but wether you come from sunderland or bilbao don't matter to me at all...Originally posted by Colemere View Post...from La Liga
Liverpool are weighing up a move for Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta, 22. (Various)
Anyone else get fed up with constantly buying foreigners? Rafa's excuse used to be the cost of English players and not having the funds, now we should have the funds and with FIFA talking more and more about introducing limits on the number of non-nationals allowed to play we could end up struggling to qualify for Europe in years to come.
rafa knows the spanish marked well and if he's buying an up and comming defender from spain for not much money it fine by me, you see poor ****ers like kirean richardson going for 5.5 mill english market is crazy and good and established center backs cost allot of money, but rafa goes where the talent is, i'm sure that if he found an english player that would be worth the money he costs he would go after him, but he won't pay over the ods simply cause he's english, and i agree..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

I'd like to see Hobbs, Spearing, Threlfall, Lindfield, Putterill, Guthrie and Anderson to name a few being groomed this season to one day give Liverpool more of a scouse/english spine.
Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours

and you'd still like use to win the premiership and the champions league?
rafa knows far more about those players than we do - Im sure if he thinks they are good enough they will get a chance. If not, then I trust his judgment on the matter.
Far too much bull**** sentimentality going on at Liverpool. The days of having a scouse spine to the team are gone. If we want to be competitive in todays footballing climate we need to pick up the best players regardless of where they are from.K ris90210

but ofcourse you would like some of these great players to be scouse, but weather that is actuallt possible is yet to be determined. and if they can't be scouse i don't care what else they are, english or non english..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. I like the fact players fall in love with the club so much harder than if its on your birth certificate
as for keeping a scouse spine - the 3 jocks of Souness, Kenny and Hansen along with a Welsh player called Rush are arguably the best players to ever grace our club and back then it would take longer to get to mold than it does today to get to spain. Its times like these we learn to live again FF
