The deal is done when it comes down to the transfer fee, so it's up to us to close the deal.

We are just waiting to see if we can get him for a cheaper price but £18m is the most we will have to pay for him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

the article (i think it was kay in the times) intimated the deal is in place its just up to liverpool to ratify- and the reason we haven't is that we might get him cheaper.

we paid 1.5m for the loan and first refusal, so i don't think kia can back out- or he'd be in breach of contract

now the next question is if FIFA decide that 3rd party ownerships are competely banned, does that mean the contract between Kia and LFC become null and void- or existing deals have to be honoured?

either way, i'm not worried- if rafa really wants him to stay we'll get him

Why is it different? It's the same man at the top who's making the decisions for these players-Joorabchian.

West Ham may have wanted rid but they insisted to the bitter end "He is our player". When Joorabchian threatened to prove to Sheff Utd that he wasn't West Ham's player they mysteriously let a 20 million pound player of theirs, who had rescued their Premiership arses, walk away for a fraction of his value

I'm just suspicious. Look at the way Kia made idiots out of 2 sets of West Ham administrators.

He really took them apart and they tamely surrendered. I think this lad is too clever and has too powerful a legal team to not protect his own interests and exploit his players to the maximum.

I'm pretty confident Joorabchian would sell Mascherano to Crystal Palace if they met the asking price.

Unless you are talking about an offer to take Masher on loan again, I don't see why Joorabchian would care to protect an investment he could cash-in on.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

It's different because the deal we signed with Joorbichan is entirely different to the deal he signed with West Ham. Our deal is within the rules of the game and we don't have to give into any demands like West Ham did. The West Ham deal was very dodgy and landed them in hot water and they continued on with that agreement even after they'd been caught.

Have you conveniently forgotten this to try and support your point of view?

Anyway it's Saturday night and I can't be arsed going through this. The Juan Diaz fight starts at 3.00am and I don't want to miss it. At this rate I will though because we'll be harping in about this on three and a half hours time.

Lets just wait and see, eh?

Is there an asking price? If Joorabchian controls Mascherano for his whole career he could move him around every couple of years, each time getting a better deal and make more money that 17.5 million. Couldn't he?

He can't do anything to get more than £18m for Mascherano. If we pay the £18m then he is our player and there is nothing Kia can do about it. He can't cancel the deal.

Whatever. I'm not claiming things as fact and never have done. At least my opinion is balanced and quite fair unlike yours which based on your apparent dislike of Joorbichan.

I remember when we were about to sign Mascherano. And you were on about not wanting him etc...

You were proved wrong about him then with many of the things you said and this is you trying to get your cance to say " I told you so! "

No, but unlike you I don't know anything about our deal or the West Ham deal, but I do know that we took Mascherano from West Ham before all the Tevez thing kicked off and it's possible that our hold on Mascherano is as tight as West Ham's was on Tevez.

I don't know where you're getting these corkers from. Your opinion is a little bit Rose tinted in my opinion and conveniently ignoring that Joorabchian has a history of dodgy deals.
