AF's line-up looks pretty tasty though, I must say.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

To be honest at this point I think anything is worth a gamble.

We're so unimaginative, so static, so ****ing boring to watch in attack we need something to change.

Riqueleme is a hugely talented footballer who we would be lucky to have.

You can take the Birmingham game as an example.

His lack of pace would have meant nothing against them but he would be deadly on the many set pieces we get against a team like them. He would also be able to spot the holes in the defense a lot easier than Kuyt, Crouch or Voronin and deliver the ball to an open space inside the box to one of our players.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think we are missing that creativity to unlock a defence, especially when a defence like Birmingham comes to shut up shop.

I had hoped that Benayoun would help with this because its something we are seriously lacking. We really could do with a serious top draw player in that position who could handle the premier league.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

i dont think we should waste money on another attacking player. we need another young centre half as cover.

but yeah other wise a good gamble. great vision and is great at winning set pieces in dangerous positions. and he can convert them as well.

imagine the headlines if we get him and rafa rests him, torres and gerrard. he'll get massacred

He would probably score on 10+ freekicks just this season alone from January to May and we would get one of the best corner takers in the world.

He is very slow but he has excellent vision and skill. Torres would get the ball at his feets a few times every game.

He isn't a Rafa type of player that works his socks of for the team but we need a clever attacking playmaker like him.

You can take Elano as an example that you don't need to be quick to be able to succeed in the PL.
elano is much quicker than riquelme, there is no place for riquelme in the team, where would he play? of the striker never, he needs to pley in midfield and we've got no place for him there. if you have ever watched him play you know how immobile he is, he often sits very deep in midfield and doesn't move at all, and just distributes, he wouldn't be much of a goal threat in the premier league cause he wont have time on the ball. argentina often play with two defensive midfielder behind him to compensate for his lack in defence as he doesn't work for the team at all...

it wouldn't be a gamble, he simply wouldn't work in our team...

Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

No, we'd have to restructure ourselves 100% to fit him in. It's no surprise to me that Villarreal are doing great this season without him now that they've fully changed their tactics. He's a phenomenal, very special player. One of the best in the business, but to be frank most teams in Europe can't accommodate him. (tactical wise or financial wise.) I'd rather push our money into more useful places.

we let our most creative player go in the summer and didn't really replace him, I'd rather have Garcia back
