    Is Riquelme worth a gamble?

I think he would be a very good signing for £6m-£8m in January. He isn't cup-tied and he is excellent at set pieces and that is something we are missing.

He would probably score on 10+ freekicks just this season alone from January to May and we would get one of the best corner takers in the world.

He is very slow but he has excellent vision and skill. Torres would get the ball at his feets a few times every game.

He isn't a Rafa type of player that works his socks of for the team but we need a clever attacking playmaker like him.

You can take Elano as an example that you don't need to be quick to be able to succeed in the PL.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think he would be absolute ****e in the premier league. Also, the complete opposite of a "rafa" player

No chance, IMO. I reckon he'd fail here even more ignominiously than Veron did. He's the laziest player in the world and we couldn't afford to have someone like that in the side. He's quite easy to nullify but if you give him time and space he kills you. He'd get kicked to **** in the Prem and he wouldn't fancy it at all.

        Great player, mind.

No. Remember, the rest of our team would have to carry his lazy arse...

He will probably play for Man C soon so we will see then if he can make it or not.

I'd be very interested to see him in the Prem.

Surely not at City though? No room for Riquelme and Elano in the same team.

Well, Sven wants him so he will probably find a way to fit both of them in. The PL isn't as quick as it has been.

His lack of pace would mean nothing against most of the teams at Anfield when we play against a packed defense.

I would say no due to his lack of speed and apparent laziness. Assuming we did sign him tough where would he play?

I always thought he would struggle in England.

I wouldn't want to take the risk.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
