I think he would be a very good signing for £6m-£8m in January. He isn't cup-tied and he is excellent at set pieces and that is something we are missing.

He would probably score on 10+ freekicks just this season alone from January to May and we would get one of the best corner takers in the world.

He is very slow but he has excellent vision and skill. Torres would get the ball at his feets a few times every game.

He isn't a Rafa type of player that works his socks of for the team but we need a clever attacking playmaker like him.

You can take Elano as an example that you don't need to be quick to be able to succeed in the PL.

I agree with Shaggy that he could struggle with the Premiership's pace and physicality.

But I'll ask you this; would you rather have Riquelme playing in the hole, or Dirk Kuyt?

If we can get him on loan he's worth a punt.
