    So he's good then.

He's not poor going forward. He's no Alves but he's steady, and scored a good goal at Reading last season from that side when he cut inside and finished brilliantly.
thank **** for that, i was starting to think I was on my own thinking Arbeloa had been one of the players of our season so far

As well as being a good all round footballer, Alvaro adds some much needed pace to our backline at times.
Brilliant signing, no doubt about it.

He's been a lucky omen for me, he's my 3rd top scorer in my fantasy team behind Torres and Pepe.

He's also extremely handsome the lad, a few have mentioned he looks a bit like a Spanish Waiter, i'd go along with that.
Seems like a nice fella as well, first to rush over to whoever scores for us.

I like the way he's always there to celebrate a goal, but he is going to injure someone one day the way he jumps all over them

One of these days Mascherano is going to score, and Arbeloa is going to jump on him, overestimate his height, go flying right over him and land on his head.

He will be out for ten days with concussion.

If we lose our games in those ten days he truly is a good omen.

I like him a lot as a player but on the left he is somewhat limited going forwards. He is a very neat footballer who brings the ball out of defence and into midfield well. However on the left he rarely overlaps his fullback and is not a great crosser of the ball.

To be fair to him this would be less of a problem if he had a genuine leftsided player in front of him, who offered the team width on that side. As it is he takes up intelligent positions in terms of keeping the ball but only infrequently does he add another option in terms of hurting the opposition.

I'd like to see a Arbeloa / Kewell partnership down the left ...

Would be a fantastic combo down our problematic left hand side.

Arbeloa is very good on the ball and makes very intelligent forward runs. With somebody like Kewell playing in front of him, who is also very technically gifted (yes yes, i know, when fit), our weakness down the left could become our strength ...

I love Alvaro. His goal celebrations are just awesome !! You can tell he plays with real passion for the team. He seems like a great team player...
