Either way, I think some people are being a little ridiculous in this thread. God forbid somebody should point out that Rafa is under a bit of pressure. Like it or not, justified or not, there are fans getting fed up, there is a lot of media pressure and this is evidenced by the fact that Rafa is repeatedly being faced with the same questions in interviews and having to admit that there is a problem that needs fixing.

Ya'know, being under pressure doesn't equate to getting the sack...
Rafa is always under pressure, he has one of the most pressure packed jobs around. All that really matters to Rafa imo is do the owners believe in him?

All evidence so far suggests they do. His vision has seen the development of the academy as well as a new school of football . Lets not forget the 20+ young players bought in the last 12 months

Rafa is going nowhere, the club is backing him for the long term, AW style IMO.

I am very happy about this because if Rafa leaves I expect Pepe, Xabi, Torres, Masher, Arbeloa to leave at least. From there you could add Kuyt, Voronin, Pennant, Momo (). After that Gerrard will probably go and Carra retire (as had Kewell earlier).

That leaves a big rebuild. An expensive one too, especially when you have just paid out a small fortune to the sacked manager.

    RAFA

Couldn't help it, just needed to use these great icons.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Where does Rafa leaving come into the discussion though?

We're just talking about pressure or rather, added pressure. That doesn't equate to someone getting sacked. Not for Rafa anyways. We all know he's got time on his side.

Whilst we're on the subject however, I think you're getting a bit carried away with who will leave.

Rafa's under no pressure, except from some of our fans, the ones who don't know their arses' from their elbows.

        As for Moyes, don't give a ****.
        Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

You dont win the title for having the least defeats though.

I'd rather have lost one of the Pompey/Brum games and won the other.

              Good point.

You can go through the whole season undefeated and get relegated if you draw every game.

If we had won one of those games and lost one we'd still be a point better off than we are now.

If you really think that, then you're being naive.

It's not easy to win the Premiership, we all know that. What fans are expecting is a genuine challenge for the title. It's a bit silly to talk about points total and all that bollocks - we'll all recognize a title challenge when we see one and come April / May, that's what we need to see.

I hadn't seen this post prior to my last post.

The fans are the biggest worry for me. I post/lurk at a number of forums and this year has been different, no doubt at all. MU winning last season when they were meant to finally recede has upset a lot of forumites, IMO.

I will say it again but expectations rose far too highly this year.

I thought i was imagining it until I saw the fans boo the players off. Sorry, but i am an Aussie supporter who nevers misses a televised game (hardly ever now) and I love our great club for our fantastic support more than anything.

No more boo's, more YNWA please

Don't talk wet, yup he's under pressure, he's the manager of one of the best teams in the league, but if we lose, we lose, and it will be our first league reverse of the season, so some sense of perspective is required here.

I'll reserve judgement once the season's finished, but we're not even a dozen games into the season, we're undefeated, so where's the pressure coming from?

Even if that were true, which it's not, it still means he's under pressure, so what's the point of you arguing here?

                        Ok, so we lose, and?

The only pressure he's under is caused by the fans.

                          Well said.

                          I'll answer the last question

                          a) the media
                          b) the internet
                          c) dickheads

I think you might find that he's under pressure to succeed from upstairs too.
