why cant there be a choice as in the ref asks the offending team do they want the man sent off and a pen or award the goal and he gets a yellow there and then and also refer him to the disciplinary panel to see if further punishment is warranted.

I don't think a goal should ever be granted until and unless the ball crosses the line in its entirety.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

So if Kuyt had missed that penalty the other day how would you have felt? Satisfied? Robbed? I know which I would have been. The only realistic way to stop attempted robbery like that is to award the goal in those situations.

i'd feel robbed, just like the bitters do at the moment, but it'd just be hard lines

I think that every player who would do something like Neville did at Woodison should get his hand cut off. I think that would solve the problem

In Neville's case, he should loose both.

And the same punishment should be meted out to close relatives like brothers

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then.

I'd feel gutted, but that's the way the cookie crumbles I'm afraid. There's no doubt about it IMHO, a goal can only be a goal if the ball crosses the line. This is one of the fundamentals of football an should not be changed in my opinion.
