Well, Rafa seems to rate the lad and he'll only improve by playing through his ****ty form. We don't have a similar player like him in the team, who covers so much of the pitch. At his best, most teams will fear playing against him.

bollox, if we had 2 players like him we'd be really ****ed.Originally posted by fredo View PostWell, Rafa seems to rate the lad and he'll only improve by playing through his ****ty form. We are overstocked in that position and he should go. He cannot do anything constructive in attack. He may be a great tackler but over the last few matches he has consistently put our defense under pressure by breaking our attacks through poor passing.
Today for example, when we were building a promising attack, he was under no pressure, nobody near him and he hit the ball out and immediately everton attacked.

He was instrumental in adding steel to our midfield when we barely could hold on to the ball outside anfield. Now that we are much better at retaining possession as a team compared to Rafa's first and second year, I don't think he is needed unless against special opposition like Barca.Originally posted by fredo View PostIt's clear he's lacking in confidence. He was still part of a winning team today, so he must have done something right.

Didn't we sign from under the noses of Everton? Maybe we should let them have as compensation for today - or would that be rubbing salt in to the wounds?
I don't think Sissoko's problem is a form issue. He's definitely lost something from his game. At times, he can barely kick the ball straight - either that or his eyesight is so buggered that he doesn't know where his team mates are!

LOLOriginally posted by fredo View PostNot at all. Football is a TEAM game, so why pinpoint individuals ?
Individuals make up part of a team though, Fredo, and getting the right individuals together is a big part of getting the right team.
Momo has always been a poor passer of the ball, it's nothing to do with form. When we're playing well he can sometimes get away with it by limiting himself to short balls, but that's not good enough for someone who usually plays as our furthest forward CM player. With Lucas having come in, and Benayoun being able to play attacking CM, we've got plenty of quality in that position. If we keep hold of Mascherano and get a significant bid for Momo, why would we need to hold on to him?Like blood on iron
