Exactly mateOriginally posted by KopSecret View PostThe look on Gerrards face said it all - he was shocked to be subbed, as if the mere thought was incomprehensible.
Stevie ain't been performing lately - he needs to learn that his place can't be guaranteed and that he needs to fight for his place.

Nobody but nobody should presume their place is garenteed, Rafa made the right decision taking SG off today and Rafa made a statement i think by doing this, don't get me wrong, if it wasn't for SG's run into the box, we wouldn't have got the pen but, Stevie's looked out of sorts the past week or two so maybe, Rafa's identified this and is taking the pressure off Stevie for a bit as we've got two big, big games coming up. I know that todays game was big as well but, that is what a big squad is for eh

I think that Rafa has given Stevie a bit of a reality check there by bringing him off.
Rafa has sent a definate
"Yes I'm the boss and make the decisions and
No, you are not the be all and end all of this team.
Sort your self out".
Fair play to Rafa.
Some people on here were asking for him to be dropped anyway so what's the problem?

Rafa was definitely having a dig at SG. He could have said, 'I brought him off to rest him'. Instead he said, 'I needed players to play with their head'
Ouch! No doubting who the boss is now. I think Rafa has just had it with SG playing pretty much wherever he feels like. The Crushing Machine MKII

Rafa: My captain is thick!
Is the only way you could interpret Rafa's post match comments.
I've always assumed it and have seen plenty of evidence to support this. But I never thought I'd Rafa would say it in public like.

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"
Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

At the end of the day, it's all relative. Stevie is thick when you compare him to the likes of Stephen Hawkin, but I don't suppose Stevie is too bovvered about people calling him thick.

He's talking about passion lad, sometimes it needs more than a big heart to win a football game.
Go away, re-read his comments again, then turn your computer off and go to bed.
