why are you annoyed that he was taken off and we won then?

You get the feeling Rafa is far more out spoken when it comes to Stevie than any other player.
The other day he came out defending Momo and trying to give him a boost and a arm around the shoulder.
When he was asked about Stevie missing that goal aginst the Russians he said he is strong mentally. No words of encouragement, just a typical Rafa quote.

From the outside it looks like a cold relationship. I'm pretty sure we could be heading for a big bang in the papers over this. They will be trying to stir this up big time.

Also when does Rafa ever criticise any player in public? Usually he would pass it over with some remark.

Check out the "Rafa: My captain is thick!" thread. I have similar suspicions to you.

There is no residual annoyance or anger - I just think it was a stupid decision and that we won in spite of Rafa, not because of him. We got very, very lucky today.

To be fair, we did look far better balanced after the Sub.

i am not making silly assumptions

lucas came on. it was 1-1. lucas had a shot and it was stopped by a hand on the line otherwise a definate goal. then we scored from the penalty and we won 2-1

it looks like it worked to me.

That's bollox and you know it is..

Rafa gives a brief in the dressing room and Gerrard says **** it...

                      Whatever. :whatever:

The lad has to play whwere he is told and if he isn't happy, then tough.

We all know what happens when players take over the dressing room...

rafa did get lucky. no doubt levia should have come on but ffs it should have been for momo. anyone who's thinking differently really need to take them red tints off.

also we get annoyed at the scums luck which they have in spades. then when we are lucky we still complain.

                            Meh.

Everton were down to 10 men and it was inevitable that as they tired, we'd gain more of a stranglehold on the game.

I was very happy to see Lucas come on. I just think it should've been for Momo and not Gerrard.

Rafa replaced SG cos he was playing with his heart not his head

Lucas came on played to instructions and won us the game
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

maybe if sissoko had gone off lucas wouldnt have got much of the ball due to the fact that gerrard almost demands the ball by his stature within the team. (a bit like Henry at Arsenal last season)

so by keeping gerrard on the substitution might not have had as much impact? why sissoko was playing is another question though.
