I can agree with that.Originally posted by Morphorino View Postimo opinion, he worked well got into good positions and was unlucky not to score earlier, there were two ocassions, one were Voronin could have passed to him, and one where riise could have passed, which could well have got him two goals, his cut back for riise shot that he ****ed over the bar into row z was a good piece of play also - considering he wasn't getting the service I think he did well
He looked better than he has been the last games.
That shot which was just blocked before Voronin forced a save was very well taken.
Maybe his form is on the rise?
Let us hope so.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

I think that's really harsh on firefighters. No one ever mentions the countless hours that they put in whilst modelling for calendars!Originally posted by pezzzer View Postin essex firemen are callled window cleaners, because of there great hours.
they do 2 hours on monday, a quick sleep on tuesday then the rest of the week off!
my brother is in the met police and his station is next door to the fire station and he says they are either sleeping or playing pool/basketball.

He is also not good enough to be our lead striker, if a chance falls to someone in the box, I would rather it fall to Torres or even Crouch ahead of Kuyt every day.Originally posted by AFII View PostThe point is that it's more Rafa's fault that our second striker don't score more goals than the player himself.
If Kuyt would play as a striker then he would score more goals but we would also let in more goals.
Rafa has almost always played it safe and I doubt that he will change.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

To make Kuyt MOM is a joke. For a start he should have been sent off for an horrendous tackle on Neville. He took his pens well but it was just the usual Kuyt performance, plenty of effort but never a goal threat.
The stark truth is, Kuyt for all his effort is simply not good enough for LFC. If you listed the best strikers in the league (nevermind Europe) he wouldn't make the top dozen or so for me.AKA Heighway No9

I like Kuyt but have to agree with this. I still think we are 5 players from having a truly world class team (2 wingers, striker, LB & CB) and that annoys me, its not like we dont, or ever havent, had the cash to spend. Spend it wiser Id say. That said we are still a quality team/squad and will push for honours this season. It just could be sooooo much better..........

Good post mate.Originally posted by rage View Postwell it seems that us kyut bashers haven't gone away. credit to the lad with the two penalties but he just doesn't have enough natural ability. Sometimes just being hard working isn't enough. Torres excepted, our strike force is poor
Torres apart the strike force this season is as per last season, decent but not good enough to win the league. Without Torres we are pretty easy to defend against. Push up hoding a high line knowing we don't have the pace to get in behind. Play narrow because we still lack top notch width.
Lets be truthful, we have only 2 real goal threats, SG & Torres. When they play its enough but when even 1 doesn't, we are always likely to struggle.AKA Heighway No9

Sorry, I was just taking the piss, cause I think your views on SG are too one sided. It seems as the lad can't do no wrong in your eyes, something I disagree with.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostYour point being what, that Alonso's 2 goals against Derby make him more of a goal threat for LFC than SG is.
SG is more of a goal threat, of course.

I would agree my views are one sided concerning SG, because I feel he's such a good player. I don't feel he's beyond criticism, beyond being dropped or being subbed. However, I do feel that he's given an overly hard time by some LFC fans.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostSorry, I was just taking the piss, cause I think your views on SG are too one sided. SG is more of a goal threat, of course.

Even when he's below his best, he's still a very dangerous player. This season is a classic example. He's not been at his best but apart from torres he's been our most threatening player going forward. Yesterday was typical. He was fairly quiet then one lung bursting run later and the face of the game had been changed. Thats why i'd always keep SG on the pitch, he's always capable of those moments, against any opposition, home or away.AKA Heighway No9

I voted for Kuyt as MoM because he scored two important pennos. He certainly didn't have an outstanding game besides those, I'm not even sure he had a shot on goal until the move for the second penalty when Howard blocked his near post effort.
He took his pens well and I thank him for that but it doesn't mean I've changed my mind over how good a player he is.

....purely for the match-winning penalties, of course.
