Arsenal are playing out of their skins at the moment. That's great for them but will they be doing that in May? We're in touch and can improve hugely. Arsenal will have their dip i've no doubt about that, they've had a pretty easy start to the season.

I dont disagree exactly, but we'd still rather have had their 'easy' start and be top. No point dressing it up as if we're in the preferable position, because we arent really.

Ooops, that was the FA Cup. The rest is right though. We are up on last year.

Well of course I'd rather be top, but it's a long season isn't it. Arse will dip, we will improve.

We were playing well, as soon as the season started, we were playing well against the chavs, Derby, Villa etc.
Then, all of a sudden, we lost confidence.
I wouldn't say it is entirely true to say we have picked up all these points without playing well, but it is the sudden loss of form that gets me, injuries to key players have cost us aswell as some bad decision making. We have a bbig enough squad now, and we should be well able to cope.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

We won on Saturday so I'm happy enough.

I see no point in worrying about anything but where we finish in the League and what we win will since that will determine whether or not the season is a success. And there's no point in worrying about that either since I can't do anything to affect it and there's no way of telling what will happen so I'm not going to worry about anything.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Still averaging over 2 points per game without hitting form yet, not much to worry about if you ask me.

I think a lot of you are underestimating just how much of a boost that derby win will have been to our confidence.

I expect us to kick on from here and beat Arsenal on Sunday.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

It's no foregone conclusion in either case. Likely, but not definite.

Nobody thought they'd go unbeaten that year.

Likewise, in Rafa's first season, we all thought the blip was temporary and in the end, OF COURSE we'll finish in the top 4 above everton, it was a no brainer...except, it didnt happen.

No one's saying it's 'bad'. But it could certainly be better...sadly, it isnt. THAT is the disappointment.

we need to beat arsenal, so imortant for confidence, we still dont look anything like a team that beileves we are the best in the league. Have to start winning the big games against the rest of the top 3. Man utd and Arsenal are comfortably better sides than us at the moment. hoping its just the injuries that have made us look so **** for a month.

We have had a good start, now we are coming up to the point where Rafa`s teams generally start clicking into form.

                              The league is ours

Every team has their key players that can **** up their season if they get injured.

                                We have Reina and Agger.
                                Arsenal Toure and Fabregas.
                                Man U Ronaldo and Vidic.
                                Chelsea Terry and Drogba.
                                Man C Elano and Richards.

Arsenal and Man C have not had any of their key players out injured yet. They will get their dip in form when that happens.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
