I'd rather have a manager who picks his own team than a soft **** who changes his mind when the going gets tough. You need leadership and vision, if you don't have those qualities you will never be a good manager.
      I couldnt argue with that.

But i also feel that you need a manager who can hold his hand up and admit to himself when something isnt working - and then change it. I'm not sure Rafa is willing to do this often enough.

Isnt he just expressing his opinion?

Should he not dare to hold a different opinion to a Champions League winning manager?

You call it expressing an opinion, I call it a half-wit passing judgement on his intellectual superior.

It's so easy for these pundits to hide behind the simplistic old argument "it's only an opinion, which we're entitled to have". But let's be honest they're not merely giving an opinion - they're passing judgement. And if they want to do so they should also acknowledge the fact that they are judging people who are eminently more qualified than they are. There's a reason why they're not paid to make decisions, they're paid to criticise them

But by that logic, none of us should be entitled to express any viewpoints which criticise the manager's decision.

None of us are qualified either.

Stan Collymore, who as an ex-pro, is probably far more qualified than us (if we're using the 'he is/was in the game, so knows more than those who arent/werent' rule)...

You're losing grasp of the fact that this is stan ****ing collymore, the only thing i'd value from him is his opinion on dogging hotspots

It's funny how the notion of someone who worked in the game apparently knowing better than us/you only applies when people feel like it...
