that's a funny way of looking at things, so what nevile should have done was stand there let kuyt fly into him possibly do him some damage, but be confident that it'd result in a red for kuyt, rather than jump out the way?Originally posted by Neil Young View Post
As Ben and I have pointed out, there wasn't contact so you can't say for sure it was dangerous.Thomas Hicks Senior

There was no damage so there is no point in pulling out a red. That is what Neil and I are trying to say. Yes, had Neville stood there, it probably would have been a red. Neville probably wasn't thinking whether it was a two footed or sliding tackle, its instinctive for anyone playing the game, you always jump the tackler.Originally posted by Morphorino View Postthat's a funny way of looking at things, so what nevile should have done was stand there let kuyt fly into him possibly do him some damage, but be confident that it'd result in a red for kuyt, rather than jump out the way?

why should it be any different if the player jumped out the way, id wager more people will say it was worthy of a straight red than a yellowOriginally posted by Ben Tover View PostThere was no damage so there is no point in pulling out a red. I know it shouldn't but Kuyt would say he didn't intend to damage Neville. The rule says whether there is any intend to damage, referee didn't see it that way so we move on.Originally posted by Morphorino View Postwhy should it be any different if the player jumped out the way, id wager more people will say it was worthy of a straight red than a yellow

well actually the way i understand it's when the player goes into the tackle with two feet off the floor, it's the feet off the floor that's the issue hereOriginally posted by Ben Tover View PostI know it shouldn't but Kuyt would say he didn't intend to damage Neville. So basically none of us really knows the law or how to apply it in this case.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I agree.Originally posted by Morphorino View Postprobably not, it would be nice to have official answers in situations like this tho
Yet apparently everyone knows better than Clattenberg.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostWe aren't referees
The worst are the ex-pro "talking arses"/experts who should know the laws but seem unable to keep up with the most basic changes. The ones who still bang on about daylight when assessing offside decisions for instance.

I agree with this, it pains me when I hear them talking about offsides, i'm 'just a fan', yet i know it's offside when any part of the players body that can legally strike a ball is ahead of the last defender, so why don't these experts and ex-pro's know thisOriginally posted by Neil Young View Post

As requested by Mr MansonsSquint.
One, two, 1-2-3-4...
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that youve been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows youve been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when youve done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows
And everybody knows that the plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows
And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows its coming apart
Take one last look at this sacred heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows
Thank you very much..

I don't agree with that logic.
By that logic every time a defender throws himself to block a shot, feet about the ground, it is a red card?
Cause that is what it looked like to me, Kuyt was looking to block, not to tackle.
It did look crazy though, so I can understand that there is debate.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--
