That's exactly the point that should be made...if Gerrard had gone off and then the Bitters had gone on to win, Rafa might have something to answer to. However, the fact remains that he took Gerrard off, Lucas came on and won the penalty that got us the 3 points. Sounds like a fantastic substitution to me.

which other of our players would have felt the need to come out and say he's gonna talk to rafa about it? it only adds fuel to the fire of the media circus and contributes to the overall picture that it's about gerrard not about the club and that rafa's accountable to gerrard when it should be the exact other way around.
