Torres is a quality signing but Rafa has shown that, unlike Owen, he is not going to be an ever-present even when fit. He also doesn't appear to know who his best partner is, and even if he did I'm not sure he'd let any kind of partnership form. Remember last season - Crouch + Kuyt won 12 of 15 games they played together, drawing 1 and losing 2, but that equates to starting just 1 in 4 matches as a pairing. Bellamy and Kuyt started around 20 games together but won less than half.

I wish I had your faith in how Rafa handles attacking players but considering how he's treated Crouch and the sheer volume of turnover up front I just don't see it.

hmm, I do agree about the turnover of strikers upfront, I wish he would settle on a regualr partner for Torres and let that develop.

I wouldnt say there has been mass turnover up front. He inherited strikers he clearly didnt want and didnt think they would fit into there system. Out of the strikers he has bought he has only really moved Bellamy on and that was probably due to having finances to buy Torres and his off field antics.
