I didn't read the last 2 lines as you're one of the people I generally ignore on football matters.

Nice touch btw putting in a reason for editing. Except it doesn't acually make sense. Here's a whooooosh in advance.

Back on topic, there are obviously exceptions and all sorts of partnerships that work. I just prefer the target man/ pacey player one as I think it's generally the most dangerous and effective against all types of opposition.

        Niistelrooy/Rooney for example or
        Crespo/Shevcenko

He's in the squad for tomrrow, Rafa seemed to intimate in his press conference that Crouch has been carrying a knock, not sure if there's any truth in it

I can see your point. I think though that most of the target men who have had big success in the PL recently have been more athletic than Crouch, for example Adebayor or Drogba.

FWIW I think that Crouch does deserve a bigger share of games than he is getting at the minute. If he was to play at the top of his game such as he reached against Chelsea and Arsenal over an extended period of time he would be one of the best strikers in the division.

And he'd do well for them just as he did for us. As Shaggy said earlier, he's been grossly mis-managed by Rafa. I'd have him in the side instead of Kuyt every single game.

Yeah I totally agree there, I'd prefer a target man of better quality, who wouldn't?!, but I'm on about what we have in the squad at the minute. Drogba and Torres would be unstoppable!

I'd like Berbatov to be brought in to partner Torres with Crouch and another as rotational strikers.

I'd like to see Crouch/Torres I agree. Had thought this immediately we signed Torres.

Sadly it dont look like we ever will properly given it'll take Crouchy a fair while to play himself back into form

Rafa doesn't like Crouch playing with a more mobile, pacey striker too much, or so it seems.

Last season he + Bellamy started just six matches together as a partnership, that's the equivalent of 1 in 10 games.

No offesne but you're probably a chubby bloke who plays astro once a week and has never played footy at any sort of level hence the reason you can't see what certain players could do for a team, and generally talk tripe.

                      Again, no offense.

PS, Crouch DOES have an eye for a pass. Not a 50 yard ball but the "turns around the corner" I was on about. I've seen him slip through many a short defense splitting pass. Quickly aswell.

The quick ball players come from the midfield. Wit a player of Torres' finishing ability, if he sniffed around Crouch for knock downs, we're talking 25 + prem goals a season.
So like Manofthebog you know it all because you say you played at a certain levelLooking at your pic I would not be calling others chubby you fat *******I played like most lads in school and with the local side but what has that got to do with anything.

Crouch was never good enough for us and Redknapp rejuvinated his career like he did with with so many other players.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

Feel sorry for Crouchy. Rafa's thrown him under a bus this season. Cutting his nose off to spite his face.

Best case scenario we can use him part exchange for Micah Richards.
now that would be brilliant, but would Richards leave now? also Citeh can probably afford to keep hold off him. But we can still dream.

City won't sell Richards. I heard Sven talking about him and he sees him as the "future of man City". they have loads of money so they don't need to sell and he is tied down to a contract.

On the face of it, Crouch has been treated very harshly. For me he is clearly our 2nd best striker after Torres. I have not seen anything from Crouch to suggest he has an attitude problem or that he doesn't give 100% on the pitch.

However, something must have gone on behind the scenes as Rafa never plays him. Something not related to his ability on the pitch has seriously brassed Rafa off enough to virtually eliminate Crouch from his plans.

Now what this is and whether it merits Rafa's actions who knows. But one thing I think we all do know, Crouch's time at LFC will come to and end either in Jan or next summer

If there is an off-field problem I think it goes back to last season. There were some baffling decisions with regards to Crouch last season, particularly at the start when he played well enough until the Derby. That we lost that game was as much down to some defensive howlers as our poor play up front (Fowler + Crouch is not the ideal partnership) but after that game he seemed to never recover his position in the side on a regular basis. Of the next 6 matches he started one which was the Galatasary match where he scored twice - this still not enough for him to retain his place for the Bolton game which we lost 2-0.
