He told The Independent: "There has got to be something. If you look now there are no English players in the squad, apart from Theo (Walcott) and he's not a regular, even though he's been there for a while now.
"I always felt we got overlooked. The facts speak for themselves. There are no English players in that team so he must have something, not necessarily against them, but that they don't fit into his philosophy.
"He likes the foreign players more. Maybe he believes their attributes are better. And that's his choice."
Despite failing to make his mark in North London, Pennant has few regrets over his switch to Highbury and admits the club did everything they could to help him settle.
Pennant saying Wenger did'nt pick him because he was English.
No Jermaine it is because he obviously realised you offer nothing from the wing.
He has high opinions of himself shockingly.Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

Jermaine Pennant believes part of the reason he failed to make the grade under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal is because he is English.
Pennant became the most expensive teenager in the country when the Gunners invested £2million in his fledgling talents to sign the 16-year-old from Notts County in January 1999.
But he was unable to force his way into Wenger's plans and, after rebuilding his career with Birmingham, attracted the interest of Rafael Benitez who brought him to Anfield in a £6.7million deal in summer 2006.
The winger, who will not be involved when the Reds take on his former club on Sunday as he recovers from surgery on a stress fracture to his right tibia, still feels the odds are stacked against home-grown players under Wenger.
He told The Independent: "There has got to be something. If you look now there are no English players in the squad, apart from Theo (Walcott) and he's not a regular, even though he's been there for a while now.

Despite failing to make his mark in North London, Pennant has few regrets over his switch to Highbury and admits the club did everything they could to help him settle.
He added: "You can't say no to a club like Arsenal. I just thought 'It's got to be the right move'.
"And, looking back, it wasn't a bad one, although, with hindsight, maybe I should have stayed at Notts County for another year, played for the first team, maybe it would have helped me at Arsenal more.
"They tried to make things as easy as possible for me. But I was there for almost seven years and I made five first-team starts and a handful of appearances coming on as a sub. And that did take its toll."When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

He had to fight it out with Ljungberg for a place when he was at Arsenal.
The truth is that Ljungberg probably was the best winger in the league back then. Not much of a chance for Pennant to take Ljungbergs place on the right.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

And why did Wenger pay 2 million for him at the age of 16??? Cause he saw something in him
JP is a talent, sure has been distracted by off field things too much in his early career, you could see him at Brum and Leeds he was electric and even with Liverpool at times he's been brilliant sure he isn’t the best winger in the world but no doubt the talent is still there. He has been our best winger for the last two seasons and has kept out of trouble.
And if you were bought by a top club at 16 for 2 million and got a handful of games in 7 years would you just sit there for another 7??? I would be wondering was what’s going on.........When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

If I feel like I have something to say I will express my opinion. It's a forum and not everybody will agree. You keep believing he is Liverpool standard and I will keep hoping Rafa brings in a top class replacement.Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostWould you ever stop

I don't think it's the question of liverpool standard that's causing the debate here, since he arrived he's come across well in all the interviews i've read, he took a while to settle but after crimbo he was on a roll, some had him down as the best player in the CL final. he started the season well and now he's got this injury. You call him a bottler for limping out, of a couple matches, seeing as he's got a fractured leg you'd think this was something that no one could criticise. But no, of course he gets ludicrously criticised for it, questioning his integrity and calling him a bottler. I'd like to see how you'd get on playing with a fractured leg and if you give it your all till you did some more serious damage, because it wouldn't be brave it'd be irresponsible and stupid.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostIf I feel like I have something to say I will express my opinion. It's a forum and not everybody will agree. You keep believing he is Liverpool standard and I will keep hoping Rafa brings in a top class replacement.
Never ceases to amaze me, some of the oppinions of supporters on here, wether he's LFC standard or not, he's our player and and such you'd think he'd be supportedThomas Hicks Senior

and the ball breaks to the edge of the box.Pennant comes onto it like a train and sees one Everton defender back and sees the glory. He moved well for a guy with a serious injury.
