That looks like a very strong team. Not sure about Gerrard and Carra playing though. Surely only one will start. We don't need both starting in a game like this.

I'd be a bit disappointed if Kewell wasn't playing, I know Leto needs to get opportunites but getting Kewell back playing should be a priority, he'll prob be on the bench but surely it'd be better to let him start.

Surely it would be better to ease Kewell in by springing him from the bench for a few weeks before giving him a start.

That is how Rafa has dealt with Kewell's many returns from injury before.

I'd like to see him start too, but it's not worth the risk in my opinion.

He's barely played in over a year, think it's best to take it easy with him. Leto always looks ****ed after an hour so if that is the team then Kewell can come on then.

In the reserves last week Ablett played both. Leto on the LW as Harry in the hole. More of the same for me please.

BTW There was an interview with Rafa in the mirror and based on what he said it didn't sound like Hobbs would be starting. Carra and the waiter in the middle would seem more likely.

                        According to Rafa:
"We'll have to see who we play," added Benitez.

"It depends on which players are fit. Lucas Leiva needs to play, Sebastian Leto needs to play and so does Fabio Aurelio. So I don't know how many players we can use from the reserves, but I know I will also need some of the senior players.

"Harry Kewell played 45 minutes in the reserves last week and he too needs to play games, so we will see."

                        Itanje
                        Arbeloa Hobbs Hyppia Aurelio
                        Benyaoun Lucas Momo Leto
                        Babel Crouch

Bench: Reina, Carra, Kewell, Insua, Kuyt (but hopefully a young striker)
"The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

I would be very surprised if Carra and Gerrard plays and if Kewell won't start the game.

Rafa can't risk Carra in a game like this. If he gets injured then we will struggle to get any points at all in the league until he or Agger gets back.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Rafael Benitez believes the return of Harry Kewell to competitive action could be the equivalent of a new signing at the club.
Kewell could make his first start of the season against Cardiff City tonight when Liverpool go in search of a victory which would take them into the quarter finals of the Carling Cup.

Having impressed during a 45 minute run-out for the reserves last week, Benitez has welcomed Kewell's return after a lengthy lay off and believes the midfielder still has an important role to play at Anfield.

"He played well for the reserves and scored a good goal last week," said Benitez. "He is in the squad for tonight's game.

"He is confident and now wants to play some games in a row. He is training really well and I'm pleased to see him back again because he has been out for a long time.

"When you talk about Harry Kewell you talk about pace, ability, experience and about somebody who can score goals and play in different positions so it is clear he could be like a new signing for us."

Benitez is expected to ring the changes for tonight's Anfield clash, with a number of his fringe players likely to figure from the start.

"We have to be careful because we have so many injuries and we are playing a lot of games at the moment so we'll have to see who plays," he added.

"It depends on which players are fit. Lucas Leiva needs to play, Sebastian Leto needs to play and so does Fabio Aurelio.

"So I don't know how many players we can use from the reserves, but I know I will also need some of the senior players."

No point trying to guess Rafa`s team, but if Stevie and Carra are anywhere near the starting line up, I will cry.
