Forget selling Riise. There is nobody else that will match his wages!

You already have forgotten that Voronin did well in the start of the season then?
Not saying he is the dogs, but I don't see why he is the scapegoat now.

Crouch probably has good sell-on value due to nationality and good international record lately. Cash in if we aren't going to play him. Leaving him on the bench for a season will only hurt his value.

I'm confused Do they have 2 banks to break or is it the same bank being broken again and again?

Or is this just wishful thinking for a little club like villa ?

haahaahaa! maybe the same bank we broke when we bought Cissé?

Crouch only has 18 months left on his contract in January. If he don't sign a new one then we must sell him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Why not sell him in the Summer?

Because we would get a few millions less. I don't think anyone would pay around £10m for Crouch when they can get him on a free a year later. £5m perhaps but never the £10m+ that we probably can get in January.

So it comes down to if we can sign a replacement and how important Crouch is for the team. Is it worth keeping him for six months and lose out on around £5m?

We might get a few million less, but we would get 6 more months out of him.
If we can't get a better replacement would you be happy to write off this season and sell him or would it be better to keep him, finish the season and then let him go?

momo + riise = 12.5m this should get us a decent centre half

then time to look out for a striker god knows who !!!! or who would even be available in jan that is world class. i wouldntgive a **** if they were cup tied as long as they improved our chances to win the league - AND WE CAN STILL WIN THE ****IN LEAGUE

                  Cup tied for what?

I don't think we need him if we play Babel as a striker instead so we wouldn't write off this season just because we sell Crouch.

I would also sell Kuyt and Voronin but only if we have other options lined up. We need better attacking quality.

If we sell Crouch and don't replace him, whether it be with a winger or whatever, then we'll be writing off this season IMO.

Babel's natural position may indeed be a striker but he's not ready to play there week in week out yet and he's certainly not more effective than Crouch in that position IMO.

If there is a big offer for Crouch then I say sell him in January. Babel can play upfront as well so thats 4 strikers that Rafa wants.
Its obvious RAFA is forcing the lad out of the club by giving him 10 minutes here and 10 there without giving him a proper chance.

Do you really think Babel is ready to play up front REDS? I've got to be honest, I think he's too raw.

Babel has played our best games for us when he has been allowed to attack more.

We don't need to play Babel as a winger anymore with Kewell back.

How long has Kewell got on his contract then smartypants?

How do you know he won't be sold, or, heaven forfend, injured?
