I guess Hobbs won't be getting too many opportunities then...

Just because he's ****in english doesn't make him a good potential signing - if he can't make it into the newcastle side then what hope has he at Anfield?
Source from North East must be Duncan Oldham

But Petrov is **** quick so that's not as bad as it sounds. He looked pretty good in the England u21sOriginally posted by Marky19 View PostPetrov at City skinned him earlier in the season even though Taylor had about a 5 yard headstart on him - that worried me.
Dury's out but we'll see if he ends up here.
If we get Taylor and Heinze in during the window, and Defoe, unload Crouch (Rafa obviously doesn't rate him so might as well get the funds in to use elsewhere) and maybe get a winger in on loan or Kewell back and we'll look a lot better than we do at present.Red not blue

Agreed
Also he has a knack of scoring which is always a bonus with a defender

decent, strong defender, I would have said in the Carra mould and wou;dn;t have a problem with him being recruited, still think we need someone with a lot more pace though. Not fair to compare him to Hobbs after only 1 game but I would have liked to see a top class CB come in to challenge for a first team place, not just there to fill in when Carra or Agger are rested and have the likes of Sami / Hobbs in reserve - not sure Taylor is in that league yetAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly
