      Since when did Newcastle have any good defenders?

      Just because he's ****in english doesn't make him a good potential signing - if he can't make it into the newcastle side then what hope has he at Anfield?

              But Petrov is **** quick so that's not as bad as it sounds. He looked pretty good in the England u21s

              If we get Taylor and Heinze in during the window, and Defoe, unload Crouch (Rafa obviously doesn't rate him so might as well get the funds in to use elsewhere) and maybe get a winger in on loan or Kewell back and we'll look a lot better than we do at present.

                        decent, strong defender, I would have said in the Carra mould and wou;dn;t have a problem with him being recruited, still think we need someone with a lot more pace though. Not fair to compare him to Hobbs after only 1 game but I would have liked to see a top class CB come in to challenge for a first team place, not just there to fill in when Carra or Agger are rested and have the likes of Sami / Hobbs in reserve - not sure Taylor is in that league yet

                            What happened to that Italian chap - Chiellini was it? If Juve really are after Sissoko, perhaps we could use that as leverage, although I must confess I've never seen him play. Does anyone here know anymore about him?

                                I've got to admit that he's never really stood out in a barcodes shirt but impressed me greatly playing for the Under 21's in the recent Euro finals.
