    Wouldn't you just love to.....

see the Kop rocking like it used to!

After watching the Besiktas game last week and seeing all their fans going mental from start to finish, jumping up and down....I wish the Kop was like that for every game, it would be quality!!

I don't agree with standing at football matches. It was great in the past but we have moved on. I do wish there was a better atmosphere though.

But what if EVERYONE was jumping up and down though!!!

Nah, mate I know what you mean, Football in this country has moved on, it's a shame really, just wish Anfield had a bit more atmoshpere in league and cup matches, can't fault the European nights. Just feel we're getting a bit outsung by the opposition fans at home games, can't be very inspiring for the players really.

We have very quiet support at home matches these days, it's really sad

We need new songs that everyone knows. I think that is a big reason to the quiet support.

It's not that many that know the words of the fields of Anfield Road for example.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I don't know what's going on at Anfield, it's just too quiet at the moment.

I very rarely get to any home games because it's so hard to get a ticket. If I knew some songs I would be singing my arse off and not just sitting there. Watching the crowd on tv and most of them are a bunch of miserable turds...it's quite depressing really. Went to watch a game a few years back and managed to get a ticket in the Kop and there was some guy (just one guy) who was getting all the crowd going, I loved it, wish it was like that now!!

Anfield and the Kop used to be the bolloks, full of mad Liverpool fans singing non-stop. Things have changed so much over the last few years, the hardcore fans can't seem to get in there to support the team...it's very sad!

The team would buzz off the crowd if they were alive.

A short term solution could be....

              New songs
Some people to lead the singing for a year or two until the new songs are known by everyone.

That's true, no doubt there's a lot of fans out there who can whip up a decent song out of nothing, I couldn't and admit I couldn't. Our support is pretty predictable at the moment which is a shame really, some may argue that we don't have a lot to sing about at the moment...then again the players don't have to much to play for when they go out to such poor support. I'd just love to see the place buzzing again, it would really send the ****ters up opposition teams and fans.

If we played better football it might get people a little more excited perhaps? Our football at times is pretty uninspiring imo.

It's probably multifactorial, but in my opinion the reason we are so quiet is that the team is pretty uninspiring.

It's a 2-way street, the crowd have to inspire the players, in turn the players respond and inspire the crowd and then it repeats. That's how you get a good atmosphere.
Lets be honest, we haven't challenged for the title for a long time, that's what we need, a genuine push for the title. The other thing we need is attacking flair football.
Remember the days of Fowler, Collymore, McManaman? We were 3rd/4th best in the league those days, but we were often the best team to watch with the best most exciting attacking footballers.

When Evans sadly went, our attacking football went also. It started with Houllier and has continued with Benitez. The simple truth is we play safety first football and the players are not encouraged to express themselves.
I'm afraid without a chang in philosophy from the manager, we won't have the same atmosphere at league games.

                      beat me to it

Haven't played inspiring football since Evans went IMO.

The thing is though, although Besiktas beat us they're not as good a team as we are. They were well up for it because their fans were mental, our fans used to be like that many years ago but aren't anymore.

I know we had some gifted players back then but we also have some gifted players now, the game has changed. We as fans have to adapt rather than just sitting there being a bunch of miserable ****s.

But it's like a chain reaction. The fans sing for the team, the team plays better, the crowd sings louder, the team plays better etc etc...

But the players don't respond, they continue in the safety first method of play. 2 defensive midfielders FFS That effectively gives us a back 6.
That doesn't encourage attacking flair football and it never will, how do you get excited about a back 6?

Didn't we play quite an attacking formation against what is the best possibly the best attacking team in the land last weekend and manage to restrict them for most of the game???

I know Arsenal had the bulk of the play but we counter attacked them quite a lot in that game, something they haven't come across this season and we could have quite easily won the game.

3 up front is not a defensive formation IMO, don't write off Rafa and his tactics yet, he'll get us playing again soon trust me. Have a bit of confidence in the way we're playing guys it will soon come back.
