Was it a deliberate tactic to keep it tight for the first 75 mins and only go for it in the last 15? Certainly seemed that way.

I've not lost faith in Rafa by any stretch, even though his selections seem questionable.

Kuyt's obviously not good enough but he is also completely out of form. He is technically poor and slow, but there's a lot more to that **** performance than just that. There is just no plausible/comprehensible reason to continue playing him when he is so out of sorts, however much he may fit into the system Rafa wants to play. He was truly woeful and if he now plays against the Turks then that's a huge chunk of my faith in Rafa ebbed away. It's time to cut our losses with Kuyt.

The lack of faith in Crouch is also truly troubling when it is clear in our last two league games we have been a much more potent attacking force when he's been on the pitch.

oh my god, we are never going to play attacking flowing football like arsenal or the scum, we havnt got the players to do that at the moment so we have to play to our strength which is fitness and stop the oppo scoring first and then try to nick one, not the most attractive football but atleast we are not losing, we have played two of the inform and most confident teams in the league 'in a row' and could of got if not for some woeful finishing 6 points, wait till we get agger, alonso and torres back then hopefully watch us go

          i hope

After 3.5 years of Rafa's reign is it knee jerk to say

            1. He is **** at buying wingers / attacking players in general (bar Torres)
            2. His style of play is rubbish
            3. I am sick of giving **** teams too much respect?

How long did Wenger take to change Arsenal's style of play?

Was it our fans shouting "Attack, Attack, Attack!"? If so they had a fair point. We only went for it in the last 10-15mins, like in Besiktas. It seems to be a deliberate ploy.

At least it's better than under Houllier when we wouldn't go for it at all.

To be fair that's the way he played at Valencia. Kept possession all game and be very patient then eventually create 5 or so chances and probably score 2 goals. Rafa's game in Spain was all about possession and controlling the game. HOWEVER, you need 10 outfield players who can pass and move with the ****ing ball which excludes Kuyt, Riise, Momo, Hyypia and so far this season Carra.

I thought he was our best player against Besiktas.

What is 'controlling the game'? Does it include creating chances? If it does then, we as fans deserve to see what game Rafa is watching. We don't create chances, that is what we are frustrated about. If we played the efficient football (boring football) that got us games, nicking 1-0s like what the Scum and the Chavs did, then I would be more than happy with it but we don't even look like nicking something. It at times is very tedious, frustrating and poor in the final third.

Kuyt is a headless chicken- there is no doubting that. He has no brain and runs for the sake of it. We need strikers who will finish half chances presenting to them. If we played like we did today and nicked a winner, I don't think anyone would have complained but the strikers is what we miss, in which I mean Torres is a massive miss.

Yep and that is what is keeping him in a job. It's why I am happy to give him this season to get it right...

Shaggy, just want to say that when Crocuh first came and didnt score for 18 games Rafa backed him to the hilt and stuck with him when others said he should be dropped. Perhaps Rafa is doing the same sort of thing with Kuyt? who knows if he can get one going in off his knee it will spar a purple patch for him?
