i expect the ball to be kept moving and the players to move off the ball. until it happens we won't come close to winning the league.Originally posted by doogle View PostHow do you expect us to perform, i.e do you think its good to go all out attack at blackburn who are on a winning streak and full of confidence, would you do the same at o.toilet if we were there today?

This is what would be nice:
1. Play good passing football.
2. Buy quality over quantity.
3. See some young players bought through into the first team.
Why did Riise played as left back? He is the fourth best left back we have? Aurelio, Arbeloa and Insua are better and all three of them are fit.
Lucas is a better option than Momo seven days a week.
Crouch is a better option than Kuyt seven days a week.
Sell Riise, Momo and Kuyt and buy quality instead, we need that.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Exactly. Progress is what I want to see. In the league table, I'd like to see us at least finish with fewer points separating us from the champions than in the previous season. In that respect, we took a giant step backwards last year.Originally posted by The Glove View PostMy expectations are that we do better than the previous season. we dont have a devine right to anything but if we constantly improve then trophies will come.
On the pitch, I'd like to see us keep more possession and actually do something with it. I'd like to see some of our passes result in actual scoring chances. We're not the best side in the world, but we should not go 90 minutes against anyone without looking like scoring. Furthermore, while I'm willing to accept a bad patch here and there, two months and counting without a decent performance is unacceptable for any side, let alone one who is talking about contending for the league title. United and Chelsea go through bad patches lasting 3-4 games. Spot the difference?
I'm sick and tired of seeing us do the same thing every year i.e. play terribly for several months until finally waking up around Christmas when it's too little too late. Buying useless players just to sell them a year or two later and go back to the drawing board.
Anyway, I'm sure we'll be having this conversation again next November.
