Just been out for a run and was thinking about this and the name that came to my mind was Paul Jewell. Probably not the big name that alot of people would crave but he's done a great job with Bradford and Wigan and surely dserves a shot at a bigger side.

Well looking at the fixtures Id say we could well get 9 straight wins now. Its unlikely but certainly not behond us.

5 homes games, Fulham, Bolton, Utd, Portsmouth and Wigan. 4 fairly straight forward ones and one obviously tricky game but at home we can raise it and there is no reason why we cant beat them.

4 aways, Newcastle, Reading, Derby and City. Only city out of them could cause us any problems but again, their bubble is bursting and we could well be in a bit of form so Ideally, they are 4 very win able games.

I have to agree. The doom merchants are out in force yet with a few wins under our belt and a bit of confidence we could beat all those teams.

It's far to early to be talking of changing managers.

Imagine the mancs had sacked Fergie two or three years ago when they went out the CL early and were stuttering in the league? They kept the faith and he won them the title last year.

Rafa IS still the man for this club. We're in a bad run, no doubt, but you show me one team in this world that doesn't go through bad patches? There aren't any! It's how you pull yourself round and start playing well and winning again that defines a good team.

It is. Its like Bolton on here. Megson got booed even before he picked a team. Its the same here. People have the knives out before the team is announced then when their flavour of the month player isnt in the 11 their mind is made up that Rafa is **** and we're gonna lose. Then when we win, we are lucky.

i'm just trying to tease out how much of this is an assessment of his managerial capabilities and how much is down to the fact he's one of us.

Nothing at all to do with being scouse. I really couldn't care where he was from Al. But I think he's a good manager who has potential to do a good job at a bigger club.

Harry Redknapp is one of the few managers that would have us playing top class football and buy top class players. He has consistently got the best out of his players. I'd prefer Rijkaard and Redknapp would be way down the list, but I think it is a good shout.
