in fairness he did have a 2 month spell last season where he looks like he could do a job as a squaddie. Dunno hat's happened since then. It's since Voronin started playing with him that things have gotten really bad. 2 of a kind and can't play together unless we WANT to lose.

We need to keep faith in Rafa, this was the 1st summer Rafa was able sign his 1st choice transfer targets, lets just give the man a chance. We are only 11 games into the season and:
      -still unbeaten in the league
-just 3 points behind Man Utd by winning our game in hand (West Ham at home), with them still to come to Anfield.
-have had our best start to the season so far under Rafa (2 points better off than 2 years ago when we went on to finish on 82 points).

We are still in this title race. We may have drawn too many games, but the key thing is despite some poor performances we are still unbeaten and still within touching distance of the leaders. Our points total so far this season compared to previous seasons shows that we ARE improving. There may be some decisions Rafa makes which we don't agree with, but lets just see where we are at the end of the season at the very least. After leading us to 4 cup finals in 3 years, he deserves that atleast. Lets get behind the man and show him the support he deserves.

It's fine doing it on these forums, but when it's happening at the game you know the tide is starting to turn.

He HAS to go close this season. Otherwise I reckon the yanks will look at who's availble.

Hope he can turn it around but I'm losing faith with each Kuyt start and poor team peformance.
I know we've had some injury problems this year that have led to our poor recent form and I think that the fans can accept this.

But as Charlie says the tide is beginning to turn. People are no longer looking at benitez like a god and this is the season he has to deliver. I dont think we will win the championship as i think he's too cautious and he doesnt have the knowledge of how to win a championship in England. Some of his decisions are just baffling and make no sense to anyone but him.

Play crouch, rest Kuyt lets see what the season brings... If not im sure the americans wont be as patient as they have a future 76k seater stadium to fill out.

It wouldnt surprise me to see mourinho at anfield at some stage.

Of all the rafa threads you choose the support thread to say this?

Im not sure the yanks would see having mourinho in charge as a great idea to pack out a stadium with reds fans

And why would we want Mourhino who has proved only 1 thing, that he can't sustain success.

If you ask who else would we rather have as manager who can we come up with? Hiddink wouldn't take it,not while he's got a lovely part time job elsewhere with very little pressure to actually come up with the goods.IMO there can be nobody else in the frame.

Putting logic aside Rafa is the manager of Liverpool FC and I'll support him till he no longer is, which I hope will be a long time off.

This Rafa bashing is more frustrating than anything because we aren't playing well, but still within 6 points of the top. We are showing signs of improvement in every game we play and we are still unbeaten, all of this without 3 key players.

That's bloody good in my opinion and when we do start playing better (my prediction is that Fulham will get a hammering next week), we will be unstoppable.

I just think that people are getting caught up on the media witch hunt.

thank god someone finally supporting benitez....WE WILL get better when torres, alonso and agger return. a good win against besiktas followed up with a win over fulham would boost confidence, bring us up to third in league and keep champions league dream alive....get behind your team and manager u so called liverpool fans!!!

Our performances recently may not have been the best but we are still picking up points. We are still unbeaten and still only 6 points behind with a game in hand, which hasn't been the case in previous seasons. We are improving, and as long as we continue to do that Rafa has my backing.

Equally as ridiculous as having a pop at anyone from outside L4, as was implied previously.

He has won the FA Cup.
He has been able to go after his number one targets in one window.
No one of the team above us has had the same injury problems as us.
Rafa has showed that we can play great football.
Give him money and he will deliver, Torres is proof of that.
We have signed some very exciting youngsters.

Rafa is our manager and should continue to be that because he is the best possible option out there.
I can't argue with that AFII

If Rafa can play good football (when all players are fit, and with some second choice players he had to sign) imagine what he can do with the players he'd rather have!

                              Well said.

I know most of us are unhappy with our current form and Rafa must take a large portion of the blame for that.

However I think it is madness to even talk of sacking him. He has done an excellent job so far as AF has outlined above.

There are a few things he needs to put right but he has earned our trust and faith and deserves more time to carry out his work. He's still the right man for the job as far as I'm concerned.

If he left us in the morning I'd struggle to come up with the name of an adaquate replacement.
A humble guy with healthy desire.
