"“Rafa came out with an insight into his thinking and said he’s got to keep his players fit and fresh for the run-in at the end of the season. I think that’s maybe why he wants to sit tight, keep the game tight and go and win it in the last 25 minutes.
“It’s fine, his philosophy. He’s not playing for a draw, he’s playing to keep it tight to go and win the game.
“It’s been his philosophy throughout his career and he had tremendous success at Valencia in Spain. He went there and got it right and he’s made an improvement at Liverpool to what it was before so you’ve got to go along with the guy.”

If he is good enough for the Big Guy, he's good enough for me.

no offense but what a load of bollox. the idea that internet posters and fans have some form of ONLINE responsibility and that we need to be careful not to damage the fragile morale of the millionaires that make up our underperforming team and management is ludicrous. what about what they owe us?

it seems that there is nothing more fragile than our players and managers confidence and that internet forums are not supposed to be a place where you can think out loud and mouth off. nonsense. this is where it's supposed to happen - not at matches.

and i think that it is fairly obvious that unpalatable comments about scum and arse - not chelsea - are based on the type of football they try to play and how far we are away from that at the moment. this does not indicate some form of disloyalty. well it might if you're from liverpool but given that most of us aren't, our hatred of man u really only surfaces on the days that we play them.

                2 memories:

                1. standing ovation from kop for barcelona a few years ago when the beat us and played a possession game for the last 10-15 mins where we couldn't even touch the ball.

                2. istanbul.

liverpool fans have always been football fans and that shouldn't stop.

so to all the complainers, whingers, moaners and critics i say good on you as long as it's thoughtful and/or insightful or even just a rant to vent a bit of frustration.

We, Liverpool, want to win the Premiership, but have failed to do so for how many years now?

So, rather than try and analyze where we're going wrong and perhaps look at teams that *have* succeeded for ideas, we should just bury our heads in the sand, yes?

As I've said before, I support Liverpool FC, not Rafa FC. Criticism is allowed.

                  I complelely agree mate.

I fully support Rafa but if I think he's done something wrong, I'll say so. That doesn't mean I want him sacked, it doesn't mean I don't support LFC 100%. But when in my opinion, he over rotates players, when he plays Kuyt continually over Crouch, i'll say I think he's wrong.

Well, we don't know the whole picture to why he plays Kuyt instead of Crouch so I won't complain about that.

If Crouch has had a bust up with Rafa then he simply can't play him from the start. So to critise Rafa for that is just stupid.

That's one example of unfair criticism.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'm not sure about your logic. The only reason Rafa should leave Crouch out is because he feels it is better for the team.

While I can believe that they may have had a bust up if he still thinks for a given game he will do better than Kuyt he should bloody well play him. Sell him in January by all means but while he is here you can't keep someone out of the team for petty personal reasons. If Crouch is wrong in the head and not listening to Rafa (and hence a poor option) then he shouldn't be on the bench. The fact he is and he seems to do well when on indicates that the reason he isn't playing is part of the bigger picture of team development for Rafa.

I was complaining because i saw Kuyt was starting and Crouch wasnt. I felt that Kuyt was a rubbish option and that he wasnt good enough, whereas Crouch would have offered more threat.

In hindsight, do you think i was right or wrong in that viewpoint?
You're talking as if Crouch has been unstoppable and is bang in form, the fact is that aside from 30 minutes against Arsenal he has looked poor all year (including preseason) and whenever he has got on the pitch this board is filled with a torrent of abuse about how **** he is.

I agree Crouch should play more than he has but you've got no way of knowing that we would have done any better yesterday with Crouch instead on Kuyt, he's not exactly clinical himself in front of goal.

Why can't he play him just cos they've had a bit of a barney if Crouch is the most effective player?

Erm....we DID do better with Crouch on though.

He had one HALF chance and very nearly scored. Kuyt had 3 clear cut chances and blew them.
