We better not be in that competition tomorrow - that prize money wouldn't even pay Stevie G's wages for the duration of the competition?

      It's a trophy.

It's worth winning any competition we enter.
Play the Man of the Match game in the sticky thread!

I'd rather we finished 4th and not be in UEFA cup if we were to go out of champions league - We'd be better off concentrating on 19

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I can see us having a serious tilt at the UEFA Cup should we qualify for that. In some ways it might offer our best chance of Silverware and if our title challenge fades away before the competition resumes in the Spring then Rafa might sacrifice finishing closer in the league to concentrate on it.

I like the competition, I like to see smaller teams having a crack at it. I don't like us in it. I wouldn't complain if we won it. I'd prefer it to the FA Cup. I'd be unhappy if we got knocked out of the CL. CL is the cream of the crop, I don't know how any of our fans can not want us to progress.

We've been spoiled under Benitez because of his great CL success.

The UEFA Cup means more games that more or less isn't worth anything. More games means more risk that the players will get injured.

If we qualify for the UEFA Cup then I hope Rafa will play our young players.

I'd rather we went in the UEFA Cup.

We'd get to see the team play more (although given recent displays I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing) and as said, there is the small hope that Rafa will give some of the younger players a chance.

Also, there are some very good sides in the UEFA Cup. Liverpool vs Bayern Munich would be a final worthy of the Champions League.

In terms of prestige, yes, but A.Madrid, Villareal and Fiorentina are all good sides. Plus, further quality will likely be added by the teams dropping into the competition from the CL.

I dont want to go into the Uefa cup, games played on a thursday means more sunday matches.

And playing a game on thursday night just doesnt feel right

leave the Uefa cup to the small teams like the bitters
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

we made much more than is stated on the chart when we won the cup treble.
The table doesn't reflect all revenue properly.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
