I guess like others on here say, if it wasn't for all them injuries he would be worth such wages anyway.

He could have got £80k-£90k/week if he had moved to another club that wanted him at that time.

He isn't playing for us because of the money. The above is clear proof of that.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

didn't insinuate that he moved to us for the money...

No one should even think that because then they are really living in fantasy land.

I would argue that Kewell doesn't earn as much as people think. I have seen something re how much he gets paid each week and it isn't £100,000 per week FACT.

Everyone says its 60 grand a week, where the **** did you get that 100k from? did you supersize it?

Couldn't give a **** how much he gets paid.
He gets slated for his injuries (if you look closely around the 16th min of the Champ League final he's got a screwdriver imbedded into his groin levering it away from the bone) but for the short time he has been fit it shows how much we've missed him.
He is a quality player who we should re-sign, the fact he has missed so much football means he should be able to play at a high level for quite a while yet.
As someone else mentioned all clubs have insurance to cover wages for injured players - should imagine the premiums are sky high though

Who gives a **** how much he gets paid. Yet more press having a go at our players. Feel sorry for Kewell to be honest. Ain't his fault he gets injured. Was a top player when we bought him. He was brilliant when he came on against Blackburn. If he stays fit till the end of the season, he could be vital in mounting a serious title challenge.

An on form Kewell is amongst one of the best left footed players in Europe

                            Blame Parry and Co.
The injures are not something you can blame Harry for either imo. It is almost as some people think he wants to be injured...

Also, I reckon players are insured, so that we don't have to cover the salaries completely when they get longterm injuries.

And then I often hear about the MTV Cribs thing. Scousers ripping into him for being on there talking about his 100 000 bathroom.
Well take a long look at our Captain and his documentaries then first before ripping Harry for that.
Smacks of double standards all the way.
I think Gerrard has done more than enough to earn himself a fancy toilet. Not sure about Kewell though - maybe he deserves a victorian outhouse but nothing more.

You can see a screwdriver in his groin in the 16th minute??? sounds like some seriously poor surgery - no wonder he's always injured...sounds like he's been using an electrician instead of a surgeon!

Since the summer of 2006, Kewell has made only five appearances for Liverpool, all of them as a substitute and the Guardian says it is guessed that the Australian, with wages taken into account, might cost Liverpool £27m over the course of his time at Anfield.

However, he remains highly-rated by Reds manager Rafa Benitez, who may play him tonight against Besiktas.

"He was very good when he came on against Blackburn and he was good in training," said the Spaniard yesterday, "but it depends on what other players we have available."
Well what did we expect considering he harks from a nation of work-shy convicts.
