We've been terminally short of confidence in recent weeks.
This will indeed be the shot in the arm we needed and hopefully it's a wake up call to Rafa that we don't need 2 defensive midfielders.

I'm with Dan on this one. Like alot of people here accept that a few ****e perfromances in a row isn't really a big deal, I don't think 1 great performance represents a turn around.

However, if an 8-0 win doesn't give the players and the manager the momentum to really push on then nothing will.

I say let's see how we perform over the next 5 games or so and then we'll be able to say if it's the shot in the arm we needed. Let's also hope that Rafa ends the issues he has with Crouch and starts to play him regularly ahead of Kuyt for the good of the team.

One thing is very strange.

Most of us have moaned that we should play 4-2-3-1 with Babel playing higher up the pitch with Benayoun on the right side of the three with Gerrard in the middle.

Terrific result and some good football played. Not to take anything away from a wonderful European performance but lets see. I have sinking feeling that Rafa will Sissoko and Kuyt this weekend
